No idea...  Personaly, I just intend to wake up, and I wake up instantly...  But, I agree that sometimes, it's difficult.
Maybe you could try to:
- Try to move some part of your physical body (fingers, eyes).
- Ask loud to wake up.
- Lie on your bed on top of your physical body and try to merge back.
- Let yourself fall back, or spin on yourself.

The false awakenings are tricky...  Dunno how to avoid them.
Good luck!
If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?

holy reality

false awakenings aren't a bad thing... they may not be what you want, but instead of trying to wake up, why don't you just repeat in your head what you want to remember a few times, and go lucid until you're forced awake?

it kind of depends on what time of the night you do this though, but like if you had something you needed to write down and it's like 11 a.m. and you've been sleeping in, if you go lucid i can almost guarantee when the lucid dream falls apart after about 15 minutes or so you'll completely wake up for real, but if you try to force awake you'll just keep getting false awakenings until you stop the lucidity and forget what it is you want to do.

and i've never seen my body on my bed, it's always missing....

I have trouble holding what I guess you could call a lucid OBE. For a long time now ive been having dreams of APing. Lately they have become more and more real and i have had much more control. Just recently i have had two OBE which were extremely vivid but ive been encountering strange difficulties. I keep falling asleep during the actual OBE right in the first few minutes.
The first time i was in my room and headed towards the window (i actually leaped in to it) but immediately blacked out. Remembering the experience was very difficult which is why I consider it a dream.

Last night I got to my living room which was very real and normal (no distortions like I normally dream). I can remember using my sense of touch very well. After a few seconds I ran (almost flew) back to my body which was asleep on my bed (it was strange to see myself). I wanted to wake up and write things down. But I didn't really wake up, I dreamed that I awoke, walked to the bathroom, and talked to family member which weren't home at the time of the OBE, i then blacked out and awoke sometime later.

These fake wake dreams and black outs occur after every OBE attempt so far.
I think ive been considering many of my OBEs dreams because im in dreamland so long they dont stick like a vivid experience in my memories.
Ive been good and these conscious OBEs were kept short on purpose but i cant really wake up or not black out within the first half minute. I cant wake up!
Any tips to prevent this? (P.s. i take yoga so im pretty energized)
