When you say you are studying it, you mean reading about it, or do you have a set routine for your practice?

Stookie

It's way too soon to throw in the towell. My first OBE came in about 1 month, but my second wasn't until years later. Don't think about the tingling, that will just focus you on your physical body. The trick is to fall asleep, but keep your mind awake. Don't expect vibrations. They don't happen to everyone and waiting for them might be holding you back. Relax, keep a clear and pleasant mind-set, and try over and over and over and over.

It's a lifelong skill, not something you pick-up in a weekend.

I'm sure most of your questions can be found in the Permanent Astral Topics and Astral FAQ's.

Keep trying. Persistence will get you there.

I would have to completely agree with Stookie. So many times I see people post complaining they've been studying for a week or a month and nothing or very little advancement. This is not like studying for an algebra test or anything like it. Reading about it is probably the smallest part of the process, if you ask me. And sometimes it can actually mess you up because of all of the different methods/tools available.

I remember one person who tried one method for one week with no success, so went to another for a week and nothing, then another and so on.

Remember, nothing worthwhile is ever quick or easy. The process you need to go through just to reach your goal is actually the most valuable part, if you ask me.

And definately do not get hooked on feeling vibrations. I have never felt them.

You are probably simply not relaxing deep enough. This is one of the biggest problems people face. Most people do not know how to truly, completely relax every muscle in their body. Even when they think they are as relaxed as they can be, if they lie still a bit longer and wait, they will notice they are actually going further in to the relaxation. Eventually you'll get to a point where you're body will feel like its not even there. Then you feel as light as a cloud and begin to float up. Then you just turn over and walk through a wall or whatever you want to do.

People on this forum have been practicing and experimenting for years, some decades. So, in comparison, a month is like the blink of an eye. So no, you aren't the first one having difficulty after a month. Some people experience nothing after 3-4 months. Everyone is different. The trick is to keep praciticing and noticing your body and what seems to work better for you. Begin making a process that is all your own and follow it through. Keep working at it. If its something you really want to happen, then it won't matter how long it takes you. Just keep focused on what you want and eventually it will come.
Reality is what you perceive it to be.

Sleepingsoul,

I've been projecting since 1987 and I'm still no where close to being
a master, advance yes. Like all the other projectionists of this board, we all go through the same trial and errors.

My first experience took me roughly two months to wake up to the astral plane reality. After that, it was hit and miss for the first six months and I had to really work my butt off to achieve it. Patience, discipline, commitment, and determination to succeed will get you to your dreams.

This is nothing of the sort like going to a fast food restaurant and expecting your food immediately.

Your more then welcome to visit my web site 'www.invisiblelight.us ' that I've opened to the public of my journals, stats, video, interviews over the last 19years. Look especially at the excel spreadsheet on projections. This should clue you in on the energy and effort it takes.

There is some good advice here!  Trying for a week?????         Sorry it just always cracks me up how impatient people are with these things.  It took me about 3 months to project and that was after practicing meditation for about 2 years prior to attempting OBE's.  Its different for everyone but I would advise you to give it atleast 3 months before you get angry.  If you cant project by then feel free to get annoyed!     In my experience the first is the hardest and you already have that behind you....  good luck and head the kind words of the other posters!  They are 100% spot on.

ive been trying with the boxed nirvana 2 everynight and i started to get a fallin sensation... and i can now its like i can feel my self falling asleep.... like iam learning the process of when you fall asleep... befor i knew about projection and i just went to sleep and fell asleep.... but for the past few nights i can feel my self falling..... and when i lisen to boxed nirvana 2 and when i almost fall asleep the music disapears.... its werid than i catch my self than i hear the music again...
1 obe.... in my sleep.... cant get my self to split at will, iam gonna go crazzy!

Sleepingsoul,

You are on the right track, just be patient, observe and mostly understand that this all comes in time.

If you can't do that then you will never fully understand the discipline it takes. Again, its not a fast food experience - its a sit down, relax, enjoy the company of others and eat the food gradually.

You've to learn how to walk, communicate, focus, observe, and balance. If you run too fast, you'll not succeed!

I've never done it with music, but it could be that at certain point - after you've induced a light trance - that the music could be a distraction.  Perhaps if you figured out how long it takes with the music to get into a light trance and then make a CD that only has that many minutes of music on it.

Also, - I've never listened to that Nirvana 2, but are there certain tracks which are more conducive to allowing you to relax into a light trance, and others that might jar you out of it?  If so, then of course, lose the more disruptive ones.

Hi SleepingSoul,
I've been trying for 2 & a half years my friend, & I still can't project!
Never been partially out, never had a lucid dream, never had vibrations.
I have "given up" several times & it's only at that point things happen without any "trying" on my part.
I am now trying to try, by not trying!!
Don't get me wrong, I have had many one-off & several on-going experiences in "real" life due to all the studying/meditating/learning/questioning but my ultimate goal is to project.
Hang in there & don't try too hard  :)
