Fast Q: good environment to phase into?

In order to phase you need something to "phase into" but am trying to pre-select a location in my mind to think about to try end up projecting into. I have also thought maybe it would be easier if I tried to imagine me in the same room and perhaps seeing myself laying there.

You guys think there's a best environment to phase into in your mind? pls give an example maybe of somewhere you have phased into from imagination and were able to stay conscious in. Thx.

You actually don't need anything to phase into.  :)
I mean, sure you can use whatever you want... we call that doing a Mental Rundown.
But, there is already a nature "default" area of consciousness you can phase into... it's called Focus 21.  It's just an area of 3D Blackness... that comes before the area we "dream" in.

However, you can also bypass this entirely and move into somewhere else.  Even if you're doing a Mental Rundown, you still might end up somewhere completely different.  It depends upon how focused you are on that Mental Rundown.

My usual Rundown I did was me walking along a beach nearby where I live... well, quite often, something else would quickly slip into my train of thought, like me roller blading, and BAM!  I'd find myself doing that for a split second... then my physical eyes would snag a glimpse and it'd be over.

But anyways, my point is that you don't need anything specific to phase into... you're heading into your imagination, so there will either be something there or there won't be.  If there isn't, just visualize/think of something and it'll manifest.  :)

K so you saying you don't need to really imagine anything at all but just gaze into the blackness? I think it would still be easier just to try imagine something or it may take ages or maybe I might not see anything in the blackness.

I'm saying... just feel it out.  Do what you feel is best and easiest for you.  :)

K what I think I will do is lay there on my back and gaze into the darkness of my closed eyes and try and imagine a different perspective image of my bedroom for which I could perhaps try and move my consciousness to.

try thinking about a scene that you are very familar with first, like a nearby park or a  cafe you visit often or even your own home; then visualise yourself interacting with the environment in as much detail as possible, the smells, sounds, atmosphere etc.

if you try your own home start from the outside like the driveway and then slowly investigate every aspect of the house, touch the paint, open the windows etc but try not interact or even think about your own body in the bed.

Others have suggested before that it's good to visualize a place that you've never been and aren't familiar with. I suppose because it forces your imagination to work harder.

Any other example of what another 1 of you guys would phase into if you using the technique that way? what would you try your best to imagine.

Well, the Mental Rundown as Frank put it would be a visualized scene in which is short and repeatable, yet engages all of our senses.

I remember Stookie had a good one, what was it Stookie?  A Pool scene?
Frank had it in one of his newsletters.  He would create a scene where he would get out of the water, walk around the pool, climb up the tall ladder to the high dive board and then dive in... then get out and do it all over again.  All the while he'd be engaging all his senses in the scene... feeling the cool water around him, the colder air as he came out of the pool... walking along the concrete poolside over to the ladder, listening to the birds overhead and the splashing of the water next to him... then feeling his feet on the edge of the diving board and leaping in, the air rushing past him replaced by the gushing water... then repeat!  :)

Yep, you pretty much nailed it :) . I would say the main thing is that it's something that engages your senses and that you can repeat over and over again.

I think it's a good method for projection if you're good at visualizations.
I don't think there is any that is "better" for beginners than another.

This sounds alot like the "Body of Light" method described in many writings going back lots of years, but you can read about it in Edain McCoys book "Astral Projection for Beginners" - its a good book.  Basically she talks about creating a "body" next to where you are lying and then transferring your consciousness to it.  Practice for this involves exactly what you said - transferring consciousness to other areas.
