So I'm new to all this and have bee trying to astral travel and just had a few questions. 1. I have a binaural beat app on my iPod and was wondering how long do I keep the theta brain wave beat going? During the projection or when should I stop it and should it be loud or quiet ? 2. OBE I know is when you are like a ghost but your in the physical world and is astral travel when your in a type of differant dimension? Also I've heard you can meet other beings like your spirit animal is this true? Thank you
You play the full length, trying to turn it off would just interrupt the process :D The volume should depend on you, not too loud and not too quiet so you can relax and follow the waves. Personally, binaural beats didn't work for me, not sure why, but I must be doing something wrong, or just need to find another source for beats. And for astral, yes you do meet other beings, which you can also start a conversation with :P

Experiment and see what works best for you. The whole idea of the beats is to relax your mind. If the beats is loud it probably would not relax you. I listen to the wind, rain and ocean. I only listen to it for a short while. Then I take my headphone off. We are all different. My way of doing it may not be your way.
So the binaural beat app I use is called ibrainwave and it has a option to put it to a certain frequency I always put it to 4.5 which it says us meditate mode and It did not help at all so is their anything else I can try ?
Hear is a link to a free binaural program . Its cross platform, it runs on , windows , mac , and some distros of Linux . You can use the program that comes with , download some scrips , or can write some of your own . http://gnaural.sourceforge.net/ desert rat
Is there any for iPod? Srry I like using my iPod so I can lay I bed and meditate
You can do a web search and see , or you could down load some mp3 files , burn them on a cd and use a small cd player . desert rat
I have an older version of iPhone and use "astral dreams" from the App Store. I have experimented with different ones and think this one offers more detail. Read the instructions that come with it as it briefly describes he different frequencies. For me, I find that binaural beats can be too overwhelming sometimes so I don't use it too often. It helps me relax and concentrate but I have yet have an OBE with them.
Well when I tried using the binaural beats I had trouble visualizing I probably won't use them for astral travel but they do calm me down so thanks everyone

Try the Binaural Beats by Paul Collier. You can find them in his playlist here. They are unlike any other Binaural Beat MP3's I have heard. I have quite a bit of success with them.
Here's a good on to start you off named "Earth", it's a Delta Brainwave trip, but he has many more in that playlist.
Good Luck and Safe Travels! :-)
I've tried binaural beats and they've just kept me awake. @_@ Maybe I just find them distracting. I felt very relaxed though. Too bad I'd always fall right to sleep after turning it off! :o
I am pretty curious what would happen if I actually managed to fall asleep with it on...
I'v tried loads of different sound techniques. Everything from binaural to isochronic to bliss coded sound. My conclusion is that not everything works for everyone. Every person have to experiment what works best for them.
For me, it was Robert Monroes voice combined with the Hemi-sync technology from the Monroe institute. Especially Focus 10, the second track on the Wave One CD of the Gateway Experience series. Yes, I'v narrowed it down as much as that :) I'm in trance everytime I listen to it.
So you really have to dig some, and find what works for you. Perhaps you are a person who likes guided session? Or perhaps you just like to listen to a static sound? Only you know.
The Unexplainable store has both isochronic and binaural stuff here: http://www.unexplainablestore.com/
Here is the Gateway Experience CD's I was talking about: http://www.monroeinstitute.org/catalog/gateway-experience
Here is another soundtechnology I have tried that many say works for them: http://blisscodedsound.blogspot.se/
Good luck!
Does anyone know if it's safe to use Hemi-Sync during an afternoon meditation/OBE attempt a few hours before driving to work? I've never tried listening to these before and I have a copy of The Gateway Experience - Wave I: Exploration that I want to use but simply do not have time to at night.

My body stays awake too :(
I've been dabbling with this a bit more and I had it on one that would play for an hour. I never lost consciousness, but my mind wandered a bit... but didn't go anywhere. Well, the hour passed waaaaaay too fast. So it had me thinking "dang, did I somehow fall asleep without noticing or something?" haha. I will keep at it and see what comes of it. :)

Its only recommended to not listen to while driving, so anytime before driving is perfectly safe. In my experience I have felt various effects of it afterwards, but only for about 30 minutes or so. There have been a certain drowsiness after some sessions, as if my mind was still in a meditative state somehow. But as I said, it goes away after a while.

awesome, thank you.
Binaural beats are more of like training wheels for me, I could never achieve an OOBE or anything like that with them on. It's more like they're there to help me experience and become familiar with the mind awake, body asleep state and the beginnings of focus 12, and everything after that I have to do on my own without them... like my dad let go of the bicycle. I still use them for relaxation, or if I'm trying to phase and I'm too awake to achieve the focus 12 state on my own I'll use them as a sort of catalyst for a slight push into focus 12. Btw, I'm talking about Hemi-Sync from TMI. Never used any other kind.
Most of the self hypnosis cds/binaural beat material will tell you not use them any where you need to stay awake . Some of the subliminal cds state its ok to use while driving , but I dont think I would like to go out of body while going down the road . On riding a bicycle , I have been able to ride for many years now , but I do remember getting a bit skinned up when they took off the training wheels . desert rat
