Title: Body going into vibrational state on it's own :S
Post by: FilipeF on September 11, 2009, 08:56:58
I've never had lucid obe in my life but sometime ago I started to train meditation and getting interesting results.
Those results have been getting better but I stopped doing it because for personal reasons I dont think I'm ready to explore this further yet.

However something has been happening this week, in the moments after I wake up my body is very easy to slip into sleep paralysis and I feel the vibrations as if my astral body wants to get out.
It starts with a feeling of pressure in my ears (as if I'm underwater) accompanied by a low tone ringing, then full sleep paralysis and the vibrations. It all happens in a few seconds and sometimes it takes me by surprise, I never let myself go further because of that.
Nothing abnormal happens during my daily life,it's just those moments when I'm still resting in my bed after waking up.

Should I just let myself go next time? Could it be that I'm a natural at this? I'd like your opinions and advice.  :-)

I would think that you would want to be comfortable with the whole AP thing first. If you are comfortable with this then I would go ahead and let it happen.

Natural?  Could be.  :)
Let yourself go next time and find out.
Remember, you're not gonna get hurt.

I agree with both of you in that:
If you're waking up to paralysis and vibrations, chances are that you are having reentry sensations, and won't project from them- however, chances are if you relax into the vibes, adjust your breathing to slow them down and synch with them, you can get to a projection state.  Depending on how long you've been sleeping, it may or may not work.
I do recommend reading up on AP so that nothing takes you by surprise when you do project.
And yes, even though you may be a natural at it (have you had spontaneous projections, ever?) chances are your meditation practices are what have 'opened you up' for the next step.

Great news... I think I did it this morning.

Woke up in the morning then fell asleep again about two times. Somehow I found myself in sleep paralysis, this was smoother than the others, the vibrations were very light, actually pleaseant.
I followed CFT's advice and controlled my breathing for a second, then I just felt very light, I thought this was the moment and it was, I lean my head and arms up and the exit is smooth as silk. I try to open my eyes and I see my room as it is in reality but not completely clear, things were still a bit cloudy.
I messed around with my limbs, I could touch and feel the upper part of my physical left hand with my astral left hand. I also touched my dog (he sometimes sleeps besides me) and felt his fur, he didn't seem to notice. Then I decided it was enough for now and I lean back to my body, it took a few seconds to finally reentry but I did.

I cant believe how smooth everything went, I feel I could've done much more and I plan to go further next time.

@CFT: In answer to your question, I never had one until now, but I had two vivid false awakenings since I started meditation, which was something I never had before. I'm also relatively young (19) and not in a hurry to explore the astral. I do find it quite fascinating though.

Wow...that just seems so amazing. You just literally "sat up" in bed and touched things with your astral hands and then layed down like it was nothing. The transition, the comfortable vibes, etc.

I seem to understand what you mean about the "cloudy" look of your room when you looked around. the only OBE's ive had were not too pleasant and my most recent one, was VERY short-lived. My first was when I was 11 yrs old and it was spontanious and after a nightmare that I LITERALLY scared myself out of my body...the second happened after a failed attempt to project about a year ago at night. the next morning I woke up to (what felt like) a bucket of "water" (aka- Vibrations) washing all over my body. It startled me, but since I was laying on my stomach, my body refused to roll over or flip around so I had to lift up from laying down, which was unsuccessful since my body felt like 400 lbs. lol

My third was about 3 weeks ago...It happened after I had had my first lucid dream. I then thought about having an obe while in the dream and leave my body. I then walked through a "jello-like" substance and the room was foggy/cloudy and all I could see was the outline of the room. I then suddenly got pulled back.

Anyways, keep us updated with your experiences. :)

Not related to vibrations.

I was reading an article about 5 minutes ago:

And I thought to myself, wow that's a cool picture of an alien. Then i came here and read this post and saw JayPossam's avatar which is the same picture in the article! Weird.

Haha...thanks. Yeah I like the picture too. I went to the link you posted and your right, its the same picture. I just edited it a little in photo software to make it look the way it does as my avatar. :)
