meeting people on the astral

I haven't met anyone, but a few years ago, I partnered up with someone across the country, and we decided to try to visit each other on a certain night.

While I had no success at getting out, she was able to project to my bedroom and verify things laying around there which she couldn't have known otherwise, like my acoustic guitar resting against the headboard of the bed, etc.

She says she tried to wake me up, but I was real groggy.  Anyway, that's the only story I have of someone meeting another person while projecting.

I don't have nearly enough experience or skill at this point, but I would love to try to meet someone once I am out.
I have experiemented with finding someone in my lucid dream and they also tried, but we only had near misses with it. We would find beings that were pretending to be the person we were looking for which was disconcerting to say the least.

I have a question: do you have to know what the person looks like to meet them out of body, also, does it matter whether or not you have met them in person to be able to find them?

just finding out if anyone has ever met with people on the astral and then talked about it the next day and found that the accounts corroberated. anyone met Robert Bruce or anything like that?
