Hi Quant,

The vibrations - ever used a Playstation with a Dual Shock controller?
Imagine one of those running inside your chest.

As to meditation, there are a few basic guidelines, usually based on yoga techniques - breathing, energy awareness, that sort of thing, but it then becomes more a matter of personal preference as to what works best for you.

For meditation with the purpose of energy raising I think about breathing, but focus more on the energy flow in my body, and time that with my breathing. If I want to meditate purely for calmness and clarity, or to recieve input from my higher self I think about my breathing to begin with, focus on whats going on in my mind, calm the thoughts down, and as I turn more inwards into my mind, I tend to forget about whats going on with my breathing.

I never try to do this at night though as I will fall asleep. I tend only to go into trances if I want to turn in on myself and separate myself from the rest of the world. If I wish to project (in my case phasing), I find that a trance state tends to hinder that. Its like I need to keep my thoughts much closer to the surface of my mind. If I go into a trance, it tends to anchor me down.

James.

And for an OBE, what technique do you use for that?

Thank you for you help.

Funny enough.  I thought to myself tonight, that i must get to a mile stone, or do something, and i wont stop until i do.

Well, i sat on the chair, with intentions to OBE, but after 13 mins i had to get up and change position because i was uncomfortable.
So, i got up and laid on the sofa, from there, i was able to relax nicely, and after a while, starting in my arms and feet, it felt like they were bubbling, they felt very warm, and very very excited, at first it was hard to stay on the straight and narrow while i was getting this sensation, it felt a lot like i was drawing energy up my legs but a much much stronger feeling.  From there it got stonger and moved across my whole body, it was everywhere... i wasn't sure if this was the vibration you guys were talking about so i tried to project anyways, but, with these vibrations i was unable to climb the rope, too many sensations at the same time to visualise, then the vibrations left and i had to sit there and wait for them to return again, but they didn't come back with such strength.

Anyways, only 25 mins past while i did that, it felt like a much shorter time....

Someone give me some info on this, tell me their point of view etc.

Thanks!

ralphm

Sounds like you are going down the right path. Could be that you felt the vibrations, the only thing i felt similar is just energy flowing, to me the vibes is just a humming sensation everywhere in the body (though sometimes people report an area that doesn't). Seems like at the point of vibes you need to get your focus off the body, don't focus on techniques because you are past them, however this seems like the hardest part to me, the only times i have been able to obe is after falling asleep later.  When I wake with vibes that concious part of the brain that dreams up fears and doubts is on vacation so my main intent is just to just get the hell out and usually it works.

I've not had what would be classed as a traditional OBE. I've phased instead. See the section on Astral Consciousness for more info about this.

I cant give you an exact technique as to how I do it, but I'll at least let you know how I've made it there.
Firstly I'd do about 15-30 minutes of energy raising meditation, based on the NEW technique detailed by Robert Bruce. This seems to work well for me. I then clear my mind of everyday surface thoughts, allow my body to completely relax, to the point where my hands feel heavy as lead if I try to lift them, form thoughts of intention as to what I want to achieve, and kind of just let go of my mind. When I do let go, I can feel my point of perception start to float. At this point if I think about what I'm doing too much, my perception just ends up righ tback inside my head again. I've go to try to relax and just go with the free-floating. Thats when my awareness, or consciousness will find somerwhere else to go, usually in the astral.

In striving to get to the point of an OBE, the harder you try, the less likely you will be able to do it. Its very iportant to relax, and try to just let it happen. Easier said than done I know, but its kind of a must.

About vibrations: it depends.

The playstation rumble is quite a good analogy, actually.

If and when you have vibrations, your heart may begin to pump hard (pulse, beat harder, faster, etc), which may either be your heart chakra at work, or actually your real heart pumping andrenalin. It's hard to tell, but I believe I've experienced two types of heart-beatings to differentiate between the two.

The conventional one I've felt on a common basis is no doubt the andrenalin rush caused by the heart beating faster than normal. The second feels like a powerful thump, which is different from the effect of the heart racing. The thump feels deep, and feels like a pulse rather than a beat.

Also: watch out for involuntary muscular response. That's a real killer, because like the old saying goes, it's mind over matter (Going over an ardurous physical action in your mind very intensely can cause your body to react, even subtly, in such a way that you can mistake it for--oh, let's say the movement of your Astral Double.

Vibrations..well I have had them only once. I woke up from a dream in the middle of them. It felt like I was hooked up to a high power cable from my head and toes and the current was humming/buzzing through me. It was very strong electrical sensation, but it didn't hurt. I was lucky to know what it was, otherwise I would have surely thought I was going to die..

quant

Thank for all the replies people.

Leviiathan, yes, before i got the vibrations i felt the muscles in my foot tighten, then when i was having the vibrations by heart was beating very heavily.
Another strange thing, which could of taken my awareness from my OBE attempt, is i had been listening to whitenoise through my headphones during the meditation, and the head phones were the kind that you see DJ's wear, you know, the big ones on the head; by they were comfortable.
When the vibrations started, there was a clicking sound coming from the head phones, it was really strange.  At first i thought it might have been my head laying on the plastic in a funny position, but nope, it continued, and stopped when the vibrations left, strange hey!

ralphm

So the clicking wasn't coming from the headphones? Strange noises are a part of the process, i have only heard them right at the point of seperation.

Yes, the sound was coming from the headphones.  It's as if the plastic was making that sound from pressure between my head and the arm of the sofa.  As much as i rememeber it was coming from the headphones...

quant

Hey people.

Can any of you tell me how the vibrations feel before you OBE please?

Also, any recommendations on meditation techniques, i currently just focus my breatheing, and it takes me *ages* to get into a trance, that's if i even make it at all!

I can goto sleep 10 times faster than it takes me to trance, and like i said, that's if i actually do it, which is rare...
