Can doing something in the astral kill you? I think something could kill your brain if you do something wrong in the astral. It would suck being in the astral then your brain stops working and kills you. I heard of suicide monks doing something while astral projecting that killed them. They might have cut the silver cord and that killed them. They say if the silver cord is cut you die.

I believe that like in any other activity, there's always some kind of danger.
But, i don't think the danger is great enough to be worth worrying about.

For example, if you walk down the street, there's always a chance a piano will fall on your head but this chance is so small that its not worth thinking about.

As for the monks, i never heard of that - sure sounds spooky.

If the cord was severed, your physical body and brain would die but your astral body would remain in the astral. I don't think that sucks, I think it's pretty cool.  In my opinion though it's only the death of the body in the physical which causes the severing of the cord, not anything you can do in the astral.

what you heard about the monks is in fact a siddhi and it's the power to chose your moment of death.
When the serpent Kundalini reaches the crown chakra, you achieve samdhi(hope I spelled right) and you gain powers/abilities such as the ability to chose when you want to die

I think there are dangers in astral world. Wild life and such. I think you can die in real world is something happens is astral world. However, if you are normal person this danger is infinitesimal.
Don't dream your life, live your dreams!

This statement should only be treated as a theory, which it is. It is yet to be ascertained whether a person dies due to cord severance or something else. I do support this theory to some degree, but it is only a theory.
Astral experiences, in my opinion, may cause insanity or any condition pertaining to it. And it would usually be in result, based on my own experiences, due to the lack of understanding about the experience, where does it derive from and why it is as it is; in other words, ignorance.

No one currently posting knows, as they haven't died from AP'ing. And when someone dies, how would you know it was caused by an astral projection? Seems unanswerable.

But from the number of regular projectors that report back, it seems pretty slim.

At the very least, it would be the ultimate out of body experience!

Well, I don't think you will do anything in your astral body that will kill you. Aren't we rather protective of ourselves in real life? I guess the tendency will continue in real life too. If there is any danger to your physical body in your absence, your body will call you back by giving a tug on the silver cord. I really feel that there is no danger.
