You are not crazy, I have had similiar experiences. Personally, I wouldn't call them OBEs. IMO they're a sort of false awakenings. That's just my opinion of course.

I don't mean to sound ignorant, I simply don't know...

Whats the difference between OBE and false-awakening? I thought it was the same but a false-awakening simply puts you directly into the real-time zone?

Veccolo

For me an OBE is a WILD (wake induced lucid dream), where someone stays conscious while the body falls asleep. The sensations someone gets with both are quite the same, as well as the techniques for inducing them, so I consider them to be the same.

A false awakening is, if someone didn't wake up in the first place. He/She enters another dream without waking up. The FA often takes place in the own bedroom, so it's quite common to mistake it for the "waking world". FA are excellent for gaining lucidity again, that's why it is adviced to make a reality check after each waking up.

Again, just my opinion.

Your opinion or not I greatly appreciate the advice [:)]

Some teachings maintain that a 'normal' person sleeps, their Astral self may simpley hover net/above them.  When they dream it journeys, but returns during deep sleep.  Other teachings maintain that it is always journeying during sleep.

Now sleeping with a lover imposes several conditions.  First off your astral self and their asteral self have to know each other(joys of having sex, or being physically close to someone).  This would apply to parents/kids/roommates....your Astral selves are familiar with the regualr goings on of the Astral plane.  Otherwise you tend to have troubled sleep.  Now picture two astral selves floating in peace above the flesh, when suddenly one gets up to leave, would not the other question this if it wasn't normal?  Her astral self could tell if your astral self wasn't behaving as usual.

It's not uncommon to see the Astral self but not the flesh next to it.  People report this about OOBE's all the time.  That's why she doesn't 'remember' it, she wasn't lucid at the time.  I wish my wife remembered her dreams better, then I could try some directed dreaming with her [:O]
There is a physical limitation upon how much light a human body can sustain. Interestingly, there is no limit on how much light a human vessel can generate. When fully enlightened you must instill your light in order to maintain its wisdom.

Wow, that is really interesting, Rastus and thank you for the input. I will definatly have to do some research on that.

Her and I are very accustomed to one another, and typically Monday of every week I don't sleep very well because I grow fond over the weekend of staying with her.

Again thanks for your input!

A debate between Leyla and Veccolo found here: http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=13362 about the differences/similarities between a dream or an OBE brought into memory an OBE I had recently one weekend at my girlfriends house. Made me wonder a little so I'm hoping to get some opinions from you all here [:D]

This is a brief summary of a dream that ended in a very short OBE, the full story can be seen here: http://www.beyondallfaith.com/gmlog/archives/00000002.htm I'd been having a very detailed dream as I commonly do, and the typical trigger for me in a dream to realize I'm dreaming and go into lucid is that I'm being chased by a monster or something of that scenario. Well this time it didn't quite happen like that and I in fact continued with the dream silently partaking, meanwhile observing the odd behavior of things around me. Well in the end of this one I saw two girls dissapear into a wall I'd just climbed over so at this point I simply quit trying to make sense of everything and 'woke up'. When I did my eyes opened facing to the side as I commonly lay on my left side facing my girlfriend when I'm staying there. She was laying face up, silent and very peacefull looking. She looked to me at this moment more beautiful than she'd ever been (Not that I don't think she's beautiful but this was angelic). I instantly came to my senses and realized I was out of my body. This was only the second time I've had an OBE that didn't startle me back to my body, and the first time I thought I'd woken up in someone elses house and freaked out [;)]. I was so excited that although I could look at my girlfriend all day long I simply *had* to get up and check things out around me [^]. I got up so quickly and so easily I nearly flew off the bed (my first time really moving in an OBE) and as soon as I rose to a sitting position I heard my girlfriend ask me where I was going. This startled me as I thought I was projecting, and she was asleep. Suddenly I became nervous and my vision blacked out, I tried to speak and tell her what was going on, and I could hear myself in my head but I knew my lips weren't moving. I woke up again, this time for real, in the same position on my left side. This time however I saw the back of her head as she laid on her side obviously in a deep sleep. When I mentioned this to her in the morning (She doesn't personally practice OBE's or any other metaphysical activities but she's very supportive of my practicing them) she had no recollection of any of the events. She mentioned that she has a habit of talking in her sleep, but I specifically remember her laying upon her back, facing upwards.

Do you think it was her projected double? I really wish I'd payed more attention to her now [;)] because I feel it would have provided a hell of a learning experience. I simply thought she was sleeping...

Any words? Even if you think I'm crazy, tell me something...

EDIT: Now that I re-read my entry, is it possible I'm absolutly crazy and I wasn't actually having an OBE? I've never actually heard of anyone 'waking' on their side during an OBE.
