Oh, thats no good! That's too bad you haven't had any luck.

You could always try that 90 day workbook you can print off from this site! Or try a Hemi-sync sound thing to help you. But if your doing the trace correct...then maybe you wouldn't need that.

Make sure you also have drive to push on and project. Make sure not to have to much drive though. I am very new, I have only been practicing about 2 months. You could try taking a class for a different perspective on it, thats what im doing. I read it helps to saterate yourself with the whole subject. Or if you haven't tryed finding people that like it also, try that. They can always help push you along.

I wish you luck!

Thanks for the response.
I see the merit in what you are suggesting, but what troubles me is that there seems to be a very specific point after trance which I cannot pass. I do not get the projection related stimulus (IE vibrations) and the lack of natural feedback on what I am doing makes me incredibly confused regarding where I stand on the subject.

I had been trying, on and off, to OBE since I was a child.  I finally managed it when I was 35...   But I doubt if it will take you 25 years.

In my experience, the lower trance 'floor' that cannot be gotten past is the level of relaxation you are able to obtain.   This is more than just physical relaxation, but includes the mental attitudes of oppenness and acceptance in your life.   Of course, this varies for everyone, but you may want to think about it.

Seems you get to the edge of projecting. Make sure you are very relaxed and got no thoughts running about in your head.... but by the sound of it you got that too. SO one more thing seems to be missing... and I say that from my own example... I'd been the same... being there waiting for getting out of my body but just couldn't do... well then I've read in Samael's book "this is not a mental exercise, you have to get up"...or something like that. Basically not just mentally you have to get up but move yourself to get up. You may think a little that you moving your physical body but in that state quite possibly you don't. Then once you're out make a little jump... are you floating... good, you are in astral. Did you fall back? Never mind go back to bed and try again.

Hope this helps

Hi Simulacrum,

I had that for a while as well last year. I was simply trying to hard. This year I just "stepped out of the way" and let it happen naturally and just stand outside as a passive observer. Thats when I was able to OBE again.

I think a lot of people simply try to force it to much - thereby stopping it in its tracks. Which I did plenty of as well:)))

Simulacrum

Hello,
Over the last three years I've been attempting astral projection. Its been an on-and-off effort, but there have been periods of several months where I would spend a couple on hours on attempting astral projection each day.

Having started again, I've decided to finally get it right, so I worked on refining my ability to enter trance.

There is no problem here, and I don't think there ever was. I own a copy of "Astral Dynamics" and used it as a guide to address each aspect of projection.

This is where it gets ambiguous, I can enter trance states perfectly to my knowledge, and will usually spend an hour there, but I can't get any of the feelings associated with astral projection. Sometimes I just try to get even further in trance (Which doesn't generally happen, as there seems to be a cut-off point), and sometimes I try to shift my awareness outside my body, which is almost as difficult as doing it in when fully conscious, and when I do manage to maintain it nothing happens.

Could someone please help, I can give a more detailed outline of the methods used if need be.
