Can you get burned or die by the sun or center of the earth when in the astral? I think you can go through fire but the sun would be much different. Thanks.

My opinion is that the nonphysical is made up of energy, and you interpret this energy in the most appropriate way that you possibly can. This interpretation is not necessarily the same as the interpretation that another entity might have. It is possible that your interpretation will be a burning sensation, or some other form of pain.

I remember a few times when I shifted into an area that was entirely white. With one exception, there was nothing there except for the white screen, and I could feel the energy that made up that area. Unlike in some areas I had been, it wasn't disgusting or pleasant; it was just plain energy. In that one experience, there was an entity there that I was communicating with, despite not having any sort of clue as to what it was. We spent that experience trying to figure out what the other entity was. Based on that experience, my guess is that I simply had no idea how to interpret the energy that was in the white areas. I knew something was supposed to be there, so I saw a white screen, but that was it.

The astral body is a collection of low-level data, and it can be destroyed just like it can be created.
The Sun? I don't know. I did hear that there was a monk who said he was going to astral project into the Sun, and he never woke up. Just remained in a coma indefinitely. I haven't found any references to the story (just heard it from a friend) so it's just hear-say.

That Marilynn Hughes is one hugely prolific writer.

I read a couple of her books. She must Astral project every single day. She has a very religious outlook and her projections reflect that, big time. They are not really all that informative imo but they are very entertaining.

Lots of people have projected to and into the sun. The usual report is that there are a bunch of advanced Spiritual Beings there.
