Can you heal yourself

Hi iv been Reading about healing using Riki and about people asking others to send prayers and hope well i was wondering if it is possible to cure ones self whilst in the astral.

why go astral? you can heal yourself while fully awake in the physical...

I've read a few of the answers and just got this idea:  Depends on the cause of the illness.  It seems to me that if you have a problem that originates in the etheric body and manifests in the physical, then 'astral/etheric' healing should do the trick.  But, if instead, you have an ailment that originates in the body (for a variety of reasons) then even though 'astral healing' would help (it seems to me, for reasons that I can go into if anyone is interested in my reasoning) but healing the physical would then cause healing in the etheric (or astral, whatever you call it.)
Just an idea.

But then again- what I just wrote came from linear thinking- the notion that multidimensionality begins somewhere and ends somewhere else- but if we are simultaneously existing multidimensional beings, then it seems to me that healing should be also multidimensional- should be treated energetically and physically.

Can you think of any illnesses to go with your points
E.g. What do u think about the cure for say cancer, HIV

Well, I believe that HIV is manufactured (just my belief) so I don't know- But cancer is one of those diseases that can be more than one disease, and they have known for a while that it is caused originally by a virus, and that partly it is a function of the body not being able to 'clear it up' in time.  So in this case, if there was a way to program the body to readjust itself so that it can take care of the problem before it becomes cancer, I would say that the energy healing would benefit the body.  And it has been demonstrated that some people who have cancer do get better faster by using complementary approaches.  I don't know enough about HIV to have an opinion, but in a possibly unrelated example it has been shown that prayer improves outcomes in many conditions and diseases.  Of course, that isn't 'curing' something, but the fact that it makes a difference says a lot, IMO.

Yes i see what you are getting at. The reason i brought these up was that somewhere i read that diseases are caused by say a slight problem with the soul I'm not quite sure of the exact words used to describe it as it was along time ago that i read it and way it was said that to cure diseases that Chrystal's could be used to maybe heal the soul (realign it)

Well I can't say for others but I do believe that the right type of energy work can have positive effects on the body. By focusing the energy through Reiki or meditation you can aid the body's immune system so shortening the length of an illness. Although this is just my opinion and I haven't seen any in depth studies it certainly can't hurt anything to try.
