Hey guys,

So I finally am able to self induce an obe. But it seems every time time I fully separate I get sucked back in instantaneously as I realize I am out.

This has happened 20+ times now.

Has anyone else ever had this problem? How did you guys problem solve around it?

Ps every time I separate there is always a hint of fear present, sometimes I have to give up for the night because I pushed it too far, and I'm trembling.

Is it the fear that shoots me back in perhaps?

Thanks guys, I appreciate everything

Yes, I believe it is your fear holding you back. When you're astral body senses fear, it is sucked back as a defense mechanism sort of. Try writing down anything you have fear of when entering NPR, and think about it. Why are you scared of them? Maybe do some research on it. Sometimes you will realize the reason you're scared is ridiculous.

You basically just answered your own question.  :-D

The trick is to dissolve your fear, have a suspension of belief and don't give in to astonishment. Easier said that done but done with practice.

One surefire way to get over any hurdle like this is to regularly practice meditation.

You're not scared of Santa Claus, right? Even if Santa carried an axe and liked to make human gumbo with bad little boys and girls, you still wouldn't be scared. That's because you know Santa only exists in our minds and imaginations and he doesn't exist in any form that can actually hurt you.

So no matter the reason why you are scared to project, you are scared of something that may be real but it doesn't exist in any form that can harm you.

Do you mind sharing specifically what you're afraid of seeing or happening? When someone physically trembles, there is much more than just a hint of fear. That's full blown terror and must be dealt with.

Good luck and don't stop trying. Living without fear can be liberating. Living without caution can be over quickly.
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.

Thanks for the replies guys!

When it comes to specifics of fear. I don't think there is fear of anything in particular. I think it is the mere fact I get frightened that I am truly separated. But I would have thought the amount of times I have been out I would get over it. But nothing yet.

And for the meditation comment. I find whenever I try to meditate I just end up separating instead. Is there a way to meditate within my body and be sure I stay in?

Again I appreciate any and all input,
Thanks guys!

Haha.. that is actually a nice thing to have.

Try doing it sitting up... if you still project then meditate more and use that to practice.

One way you could try 'projecting' is to not go through the process of 'separating'.. i.e. climbing a rope, rolling over and floating out. These are actually just metaphors that we use because of the logical physical bonds that bind our thinking - "I am at a location and I need to get out and go over there".

What you could try is a very simple and quite ridiculous sounding method.

When you are in the phase state bring your nonphysical hands up to your face and begin rubbing them together.. like you would to keep you warm. You really don't need to actively bring them up really.. just intend and know that you are doing it. You seem familiar with what your nonphysical self feels like so this should be easy for you. Don't think about getting out.. or separating... just do this exercise. You should feel them as though you were doing it.. you may infact be convinced they are your real physical hands. When you feel them rubbing together.. blow on them gently... feel your breath blowing over the backs of your hands.... I used to - sometimes just for kicks and to convince myself I wasn't doing it physically - continuously blow without taking a breath... it's quite cool.

This should anchor you in the nonphysical and vision will slowly manifest and you may find yourself in an apparent location. The cool thing is.. when or if you start to feel yourself returning to physicality you can use the hand rubbing as a way to anchor yourself within the nonphysical.
