I don't know. I think the first thing I would say would be something along the lines of "you're a nicely dressed hobo."

Thats not a bad idea!  I say we keep it simple.

Would go something like this:
"I'm having a brain fart could you tell me what number comes after 2?  Jeez I feel so stupid."

The other person would more than likely reply '3' or laugh in your face.  However for someone that astra projects the correct reply would be:
"Ahh yes after 2 comes 1,345,891,924,456,876,345,698,459,265,398,304,283,484.05"

If the number they reply with is even a digit off then you know they are full of crap and cannot be trusted.

Oh, I know!

Us: I occassionaly leave my body. Sometimse I seem to be close to the Earth, but other times, I seem to be in what could be described as a seperate dimension, or plan of existance! A... An... An Astral Plane, if you will.

Them: Ha ha ha! You're crazy! Someone call the looney-bi—

Then you jab them in the eye and run away.

If they're one of use, they'll wear goggles. Or something.

Oh my God.

Just ask someone if they're interested in dreams. It's not hard to fit into a conversation, as in, "Have you ever dreamt of...?" If they are, which is not often, then talk about lucid dreams, projection, etc.

Craziness is often just mistaken for a lack of social courtesy and a poor choice of words.

heres a suggestion...
i know whenever i say that i have controlled OBEs that people automatically do thing im crazy...
but this happens all the time, and i dont blame them. the OBE state is so infrequently reported in the media because there is no scientific explaination for it, as it is not closely related with the physical dimension. many people are not even aware that there ARE different dimensions and they live in them every single day (i was at one time one of those). what i always do is explain to them the traditional dimension theory ie: 7 dimensions, physical, astral, so on and so on. this gives them a mental picture of what projecting actually is. i tell them that they have an astral body and so does everyone else. i also explain to them that they leave their body every night but are not even conscious of it. by explaining this to them, the idea starts to seem less and less foreign. i ask them if they have ever had a lucid dream. then explain to them what dreams/lucid dreams actually are. this familiarizes them with the basics and they are usually extremely excited and in awe that one can accomplish this state. they say "YOUVE GOT TO TEACH ME HOW TO DO THIS!". ahhhhaaaaaaa.....this is where my conversation starts to get somewhere. the word of OBE is very real and therefore needs to be spread to as many people as possible. as more people are conscious of the concept, more is to be learned about it. i seriously think the world would be a better place if everyone knew what we know. i am sure it has changed me for the better and most likely all of you as well. it is an amazing thing and has shown me the power i hold whithin, and even more so the power waiting to burst open. ahem anyways after they ask me how to achieve this state, i take out a piece of paper and a pen, and write down the words "ASTRAL DYNAMICS - ROBERT BRUCE" will they ever know how much that moment has changed their life? maybe maybe not. they are left with a piece of paper and ink it is their choice whether or not to turn it into something beautiful

(everyone should do this as frequently as possible)

I call the Out of Body Experience topic "It's a Fine Day" and the individual experiences "Fine Days". I named it after the song of the same name, which has been covered by electronic musicians Opus III and ATB Feat. Miss Jane (listen to the song and you'll know what I mean). The original was done by someone simply named Jane back in 1981 or so.

I call up my friend Steve and ask him "Guess what today is", to which he replies "It's a Fine Day". He knows exactly what I mean. [:)]

I have code names for other things, too...part of my crazy randomness, I guess...LOL

This reminds me a lot of the early Christians who would draw half of the fish symbol in the dirt to identify themselves, and the person they'd just met would draw the other half.

So, I suggest that upon meeting another potential APer, we draw half of a life-sized portrait of Robert Bruce (or Monroe, if you prefer a bit of variety in your Roberts) in the dirt.  If the other party draws in the other half, you're golden.

Of course, that means a greeting could take several hours, depending on how much of a perfectionist you are, but...

That's usually what I bring up when wanting to talk about metaphysical sorts of things like that to people who don't already know I'm a bit off in the head. Everybody has dreams, so people can relate to that fairly easily and you can go from there and see how much they're into the whole thing. If you mention astral projection or "OBE's" and they know what you're talking about, that might be giveaway that they're interested in those sorts of things as well, because I don't think most people have really heard those terms used much or know what they mean. Well at least that's the case at my high school. :/

oh i got one,
you say"ohhhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhh ohhhhhhhhh  everybody was kung fu fighting!!!!! those kats were fast as lightning!!!!!!!."

and if they are one of use they would say,
"Glen, glen glen glen, glen's the man going to work got his tie, got invision. he knows one day he may become...... supervisor...... Roy, roy roy roy!"
if they aren't one of us they will probably start singing it with you, laugh at you, or run away screaming "MOMMY!!!!!!" depends how old or mental they are[:D]

I was thinkin, u know how a lot of people dont know about APing, and if we come up to them and tell them "hey i like to travel out of body" then they will think we are nuts, well we should have some sort of saying that we could say when we like meet someone, i dont know what it would be, like just some weird saying, that the other person could finish if he/she AP's, so like if u say the green grass is in my house to a guy, and they reply with o would u like me to come over to check that out for you, u know he is in to this whole thing( that was just an example, i dont think i would use that one), im just stupid, soo try and think of one, then post it here and we will see how it goes, this is probably a stupid idea but i dunno, i think its worth trying lol
