I don't pray, but I don't think it is useless in the physical realm. It is one of the ways of connecting with your higher self, I prefer meditation. You don't need to pray in the astral realm, just ask for your guide .

Praying in the physical realm is not useless. God has no limits, and he can hear you no matter where/what plane of existence you happen to be on.

What is you definition of praying? Are you asking for something? The way I currently observe the universe and existence is that the true reality is that we are all one and that prayer is ultimately asking something from ourselves. This would align with what bondgirl3007 stated which is that "he can hear you no matter where/what plane of existence you happen to be on.". When you consider that maybe you "he" answer your own prayers then it really doesn't matter where you are.
