Hello Spastral,

I will offer my opinion which in turn may help to break your next plateau, and eventually to realease.  You outlined your points numerically, so I will try to systematically touch on them, ofcourse this only being my opinion.  Even though you don't know me from a hill of beans, try some of this.

1. Your chakras are brilliant and white, yes, but remember this needs to be done only once a week in the early stages.  Until you are comfortable with the astral, you should not try the 'real time', by then ofcourse you will have adequite mind control and be able to do it while 'doing everything ealse'.

2. You should try to set a comfortable atmosphere, but I would refrain using certain fragrencess as they may later proove to be a mental crutch.  As for the Mary-J, stay away friend.  If you do partake in the occasional toke or drink, don't try to project.  You open all sorts of doors inside of you to negativity, which will surelly hinder your 'trip'.  Hence the paranoia.

3. Yes there is fear planted deep inside of you, it is in all of us, and this keeps most people from projecting.  Fear breads on itself, and will manifest all sorts of likeness throughout your mind.  This is the largest heardle, mind control and self control.  In the beginning the vibrations are scary, but you will learn to like them.

4. While your essence resides in the physiological body, yes you will have awareness of it, this is a good thing or ealse you would never want to return.  The trick is to relax and know that your body is safe (considering you put white ligh all around you) and really transfer the majority of your conciousness to your astral self.  This again gets easier and more distinct as you progress.

5. again just relax and remember mind control.  Depending on your concentration, this may take months or days to conquor.

hope this is of some help

I filed this in the Robert Bruce interview area, but I would appreciate any feedback:

Hi Robert, and all

Just ordered your book! After reading the first section of your treatise on AP, I must say it is nice to read a document that is modern and to the point

I ALSO JUST READ ASTRAL KNIGHTS!!!!! WHOOO SCARY STUFF! This would make for a great novel.....

I have known of Astral projection since I was 15 (now 30!) and have tried on and off for years. Only now, am I applying myself to regular attempts; so far, without much success. I have several questions for you, I know you must receive a lot of requests like these, but my desire to project is very strong and I feel like a few tips would help immensly:

1. Chakras - How should they be visualised? I imagine them as balls of brilliant white light, but this is quite hard to sustain while I am doing everything else.

2. Relaxation Aids - I have recently bought some essential oils (I only use them when I try to project) Lavender and Lemon Grass. They aid relaxation and concentration. Also, I occasionally like to smoke a joint (1 per week) This definately helps me to relax. Are these things that I should take advantage of, or should I put them aside and carry on in the good old fashion way.

3. Fear. Sometimes, during my excersises, I get itches and twitches and all kinds of little distractions (I almost feel like I look for them!!) Is this a common thing. They happen before I get to the vibration stage. I have read quite a few books and a lot of authors (ophiel for instance) suggest using the quabalistic cross and lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram. Others say there is nothing to fear but fear itself. I do not sit in my chair thinking "Arrghh, something's gonna get me!!!" I don't consciously feel any fear, but I wonder if there is something planted deep inside that is stopping me.

4. Awareness of the physical body. A problem that I have when attempting to project is that my mind seems to keep reminding me that I am still in my physical body. I try to get to the point of relaxation and I actually feel like parts of my body are completely asleep (Mainly my legs) the rest of me however, tends to remind me that it's still there and this obviously inhibits the process. Is this a relaxation issue? I wonder because I do feel very relaxed when I attempt projection

5. Visualisation: Another little stigma that I seem to auto attach when attempting projection is:

My eyes are closed, I feel some vibration, my visualisation is multi-tasking between the mental hands technique and shifting my conscioussness to the "me" a few feet in front of me. My mind starts to think "at what point will I be able to see something?" Should I be visualising my surroundings also, or purely on the raising of vibration and shifting my conscious awareness

Again, I do appreciate that you are a busy man. But i'm fairly sure that these are common problems which may aid the many as well as myself.

Looking forward to getting your book.

All the best,

Spencer.
