If you made a 30-day program to ensure the best chance of success for having an OBE - and given that anyone who did it had the discipline and dedication - what would your program be?

Would your program include relaxation exercises?

Would you include energy-raising exercises?

Would you include trances as a cornerstone?

Would you recommend a certain diet?

Would you recommend certain times of the day?

Would you recommend mantras or affirmations?

Would you recommend prayer or rituals?

Would you recommend sexual abstinence?

How likely do you think the average person would be to have success if they tried your program?

Why not find a projector who would visit you and gently ease your astral body away from your physical body.

and what the projector gain with that?

You can look at my suggestion as you might look at some one using jumper cables to help you start your car because of a dead battery or in this case to start you on your way to projection. Projection sites are full of suggestions CD's, brainwave entrainment, flashing lights etc.etc. This could be another method.
I don't know if you are a projector or not so lets ask Mactombs if he would like to be visited by a projector who may help him on his way to become a projector.
If your question refers to a projector who helps Mactombs I would think just helping another human being reach his goal would be thanks enough.

Quotesexual abstinence doesn't work.

That's arguable. Some people believe a great deal of energy is lost through orgasm, etc. I'm sure you can easily find long threads on this subject.

QuoteI don't know if you are a projector or not so lets ask Mactombs if he would like to be visited by a projector who may help him on his way to become a projector.

Absolutely, BUT - I've even wondered why some part of my Higher Self or whatever hasn't helped me get out ... but then I ask myself, do you want to be reliant or do you want to master this ability for yourself? I want to be able to do it myself, at will. So I take the longer road.

In answer to my own questions:

Q:Would your program include relaxation exercises?
A: Yes. This is helpful just for coping with daily stress, beyond the benefit of just having OBEs.

Q:Would you include energy-raising exercises?
A:Yes. Some people claim energy is everything, others say it's irrelevant. I don't know which, but if you've ever practiced Qi-Gong or a martial art, you know what it's like to feel that energy flowing through you. I don't know if it's necessary (I'm leaning toward it, though), but it can't hurt to include it.

Q:Would you include trances as a cornerstone?
A: Yes. Being able to clear your mind and get into a deep Focus 10 or trance equivalent without falling asleep is crucial in my mind toward the goal of OBEs at will.

Q:Would you recommend a certain diet?
A: Yes. Eating healthy, mostly fruits and vegetables, natural foods, plenty of water does wonders in day-to-day life; if you're really going for OBEs at will, taking good care of your body is most likely helpful enough that it's worth sacrificing junk food for once in a while.

Q:Would you recommend certain times of the day?
A: No. If you're trying for the mostly-spontaneous luck OBEs, try early morning. It's easier to take advantage of natural relaxed states of body and mind than to induce them at any time - but it's probably worth it to learn how to relax that deeply, anytime, at will.

Q:Would you recommend mantras or affirmations?
A:Yes. I have used affirmations to good effect before. They also can help clear your mind and keep your mind on your intentions. They are not necessary, however.

Q:Would you recommend prayer or rituals?
A: Yes. Even mostly-agnostic (?), I think that ritual helps cement in your mind what you are doing and why. The ritual of going to bed conditions you to sleep. A ritual of OBE practice sets your intention for the time you have allotted and signifies your receptiveness to new experiences. Prayer also states - with emotion - your desires. I state before practice: "I recognize and accept my birthright to astral project at will. I use this ability with wisdom and discretion. I assume responsibility for my own spiritual growth."

Q: Would you recommend sexual abstinence?
A: Yes - unless you have a strong, healthy relationship with your partner, in which case I believe that sex strengthens your energy rather than depletes it. (Whether or not this energy is necessary for OBEs is still undecided for sure - but it doesn't hurt to practice a force of will and abstain.)

Q:How likely do you think the average person would be to have success if they tried your program?
A:Virtually guaranteed, so long as they are determined to achieve it, and accept the responsibility to creatively develop beyond these guidelines into making their own guidelines - and then pushing their own limits.

Oh really? well,I've been practicing sexual abstinence ever since i  was born, and damn me,no conscious OBE for me.

yes.I've read the 'masturbation thread' among otters.i don't  find anything that would make me think that celibate would help someone have an OBE.

Q:Would your program include relaxation exercises?
A: Yep. Some sort of daily meditation routine would be even better.

Q:Would you include energy-raising exercises?
A:Yes. Many have projected without raising a single spark of energy, but if nothing else it feels good to manipulate energy.

Q:Would you include trances as a cornerstone?
A: It seems to be a vital stepping stone for most, so yes.

Q:Would you recommend a certain diet?
A: A general well balanced diet with lots of water. I don't think you have to go vegan to experience OBE's.

Q:Would you recommend certain times of the day?
A: Depends on the individual, so no recommendation can be made. Essentially it should not matter though.

Q:Would you recommend mantras or affirmations?
A: It could be a helpful tool initially, so yes.

Q:Would you recommend prayer or rituals?
A: Yeah, whatever tool works.

Q: Would you recommend sexual abstinence?
A: I agree with mactombs. If you have a healthy relationship with a partner, proper sexual energy transfer will actually take place and enhance rather than deplete your energy stores.

Q:How likely do you think the average person would be to have success if they tried your program?
A: Depends very much on whether they stick to the program. I would venture a guess and say a large number of people fail simply because they don't stick it and practice regularly.

I originally wrote this:

http://www.kiwibonga.com/OBE14.pdf

It's a guide to have a conscious OBE in 2 weeks or less

The information in that document isn't entirely accurate, so disregard anything odd about it... But the core idea remains what I think is a very effective technique to attain the expanded levels of awareness required to have out of body experiences.

I am in the process of writing a new version of it. The timeframe remains an ambitious 2 weeks, but the methods change slightly to include my alarm clock experiments, and I need to clear up a few things, to define the goals of the methods more clearly.

The reason I wanted to write this is because books and methods by experienced projectors simply are not enough -- these authors in my mind cannot be good teachers because they do not outline their own development in enough detail...

In order to teach, there needs to be something to guide the "average left-brained joe" and nothing can be left to luck. It's all about finding fail-safe methods.

Would your program include relaxation exercises?

Yes. Controlling our sleep is the first step in controlling our other "levels of consciousness," therefore learning how to properly relax and fall asleep quickly is one of the key points. The relaxation exercises that people do before attempting to project can also be used by so-called insomniacs. In the program, I help people re-learn how to fall asleep so that they better understand the principles that are at work.

Would you include energy-raising exercises?

No, not in a guide for beginners. Manipulating energy is very useful for the intermediate level, to lengthen projection time, to develop clairvoyance and other abilities, but it does not seem to be a requirement for the first few projections.

Would you include trances as a cornerstone?

Yes. Exercises meant to "build up the awareness muscle" make it very easy to reach the trance state, even unintentionally. I would say that by the time someone finds themselves in a trance as a result of the exercises, it is time to attempt a conscious projection.

Would you recommend a certain diet?
Would you recommend certain times of the day?

No. My motto is "if you can fall asleep, you can project," so it's the person's choice when they should attempt to project, and what they should eat before they do.

Would you recommend mantras or affirmations?

Yes. But my affirmations are not standard, they are not meant to try and talk to your subconscious. They consist in imagining yourself out of body throughout the day and reminding yourself of how important it is that you record everything that is happening and bring your memories back with you. In other words, it's not really affirmations, more like "practice" or "premeditation."

Would you recommend prayer or rituals?

No.

Would you recommend sexual abstinence?

No.

How likely do you think the average person would be to have success if they tried your program?

Highly likely, since the program is aimed at the average person.

OBE in 2 weeks, it will happen :-)
