Im pretty certain I was not in my body-funny though-I wasnt trying to AP!  I thought I fell off my bed!

I also get sleep paralysis-quite often-what could attack you if you are out of your body???  It was really scarey but I didnt see anything or anyone-just felt like something was trying to suck the life out of me by the neck!!!! Than I woke up all cozy in my bed![:D]

Hi,
Sometimes I think I am awake and will try to go in the next room, say to get a glass of water-than I feel very heavy like I am walking with a wet blanket over me-when I am moving-everything appears as it should (my room, windows even the clock on the wall) than I feel something grab me by my neck! And I wake up in my bed!!! Was this an out of body-or am I out of my mind????

Well, if you're out of your mind, I must be friggin' insane.  It sounds to me like you had partial awareness during an OBE.  The more consciously aware you are at the time of the experience, the clearer and more detailed it will be.

There have been many projections of mine where, under other circumstances, I would have chalked them up to being "weird dreams" if I didn't have previous experience with these things.  It makes me wonder how many people out there have an OBE (or come close) and never realize it.

I couldn't say for sure, but perhaps it was the strong pull coming from your physical body close by which you interpreted to be a choking sensation.

It's been widely reported that the closer you are in proximity to your physical body, the greater attraction there is to suck you back in.

Granted, this doesn't happen all the time to everyone....but most of my OBE's, I've had to get at least 10-12 feet away from my physical body before I could move around freely.

I am pretty sure that I OBE-I dont practice a technique-I just often will feel vibration thru out my whole body before going to sleep-kind of like I am not a "solid" thing-than I get these really strange dreams-where I know I am asleep-but I also get sleep paralysis when I am trying to wake up-which is not very fun, sometimes I will have multiple episodes in any given night-ecspecially if I am overly tired!!! I want to feel like I have some control over this and obviously-dont want to be attacked by anything-what do you do to protect yourself? [:(]

It sounds like you woke up in your etheric body. I have read that when it is close to your physical body it can be rather sluggish, and usually if you do not move away you get pulled back in. I have read about people overcoming sleep paralysis but I do not remember how. Hopefully someone can help you with this. I have never experienced it. I doubt you were being attacked. Being out of body can be different than when in your physical body which includes different sensations and feelings. Don't jump to the conclusion that that something odd, weird, or unpleasant is trying to hurt you. Try to understand and learn. We fear that which we do not understand.

Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

After a few months of freakish experiances-including very strange lucid dreams, sleep paralysis, premonitions mixed in with what might be a little poltergeist activity around my house-I am starting to question alot of things!  First, can a spirit "attach itself to you if you AP or have OBEs? Can you bring it back with you, so to speak? And how do you protect yourself? I kept getting real weird dreams that something or someone wanted to communicate with me, but it was like I had to give it permission, and since I was scared, I wouldnt. But it seemed like it hung around for a few months-now things seem to have quieted down a bit....I felt unsure weather this was caused by some kind of spirit or maybe by my subconcious mind (as Ive heard that is possible with alot of poltergeist cases-ecspecially around kids) Anyone have any thoughts or ideas???[B)]

Sleep paralysis. I'm sure you can handle this. When it come you just relax, 'close your eyes', lay down on the floor (or whatever in the dream) and then wake up into the dream. The point here is to let the paralysis paralize you. After that you are free. Simple. [|)]

I have also had experiences of being obe and not being able to move very much, maybe there is some blockage in your throat that limits your obe ability.
