Dragon #103

Hello everyone. I am new to all this astral stuff, and I can't begin to imagine of all the billions of newbies who waltz in here and ask for quick easy answers, and how they should probably be looking through the forums first, so I am somewhat sorry for posting this...

I want to create a checklist for all the things that are required and recommended (and how strongly) for those who want to start APing having OBEs, plus what it would take -- the work that would be involced to meet those requirements.

I've started my own list, but its really vague and it sucks:

- A method in which to induce sleep paralysis.
- A state of mind to remain calm when switching conciousness from your physical body to your metaphysical body.
- A clear just idea of what you want to do once you leave your body.
- Highly developed nonverbal thinking skills.
- A plan to keep yourself motivated to practice.
- A place in which to practice in that you feel the safest possible.
Drifting out to the sea of afterlives, unsure of where the waves will take me.

Thanks! Sorry if it seemed like I thought your checklist sucked too. ^..^; That wasn't my intention...

I think it would be a good idea if we were to describe what would be nessisary for someone to attain the requirements to have an OBE, and how difficult each one is. It's something I think quite a few people, myself included, will find handy. :-)

I had to retype this because my browser ate my post.

A method in which to quickly attain a trance.

You should probably read through the Permanent Astral Topics and the Astral FAQ sections of the forum. The moderators have collected a lot of really 'meaty' posts regarding how to do various techniques, descriptions of experiences that are common or uncommon, etc. Major Tom wrote a great piece on reaching focus 10 and OBE experiences. Frank has some fantastic posts on phasing (two different things by the way). And those are just two. There are descriptions of various methods used to reach MABA (mind awake/body asleep) as well. I would suggest checking there first and then post any questions you have from there and we'll be glad to help as much as we can.
Reality is what you perceive it to be.
