I'm just curious...This is a question for those of you who have encountered both other astral travellers and people who have passed on. What's the different between them? How do you know who's what?

Psan

I have seen people, but never encountered someone who obviously felt dead or a traveler or anything else.
I feel, its difficult to find out, mostly these are dream elements, your own creations.

Now I'll tell what I heard. Living people have a cord connected to their physical bodies, dead do not...
Best of luck trying to find that........best way is to talk to them, but not surest.

Hiya

I am reading Waldo Vieira's book - he's had hundreds of OBEs.

He says that projected consciousnesses have 1) light around their etheric bodies (aura or holochakra) 2) as Psan said they have silver cord connecting them to their bodies.

On the other hand, deceased people have dull aura and no silver cord.  Saying this, in his astral travels there was a time when he had to hide his silver cord to avoid being detected in a hell-ish sort of place he went to investigate.  He was found out, but luckily he was able to 'fly' out of the place.  At another time, he met a deceased consciousness who was an old acquaintance in the physical life, and this person didn't know he was projected and actually asked him how long he has been dead, to which he laughed.  This deceased person was amazed by Dr Vieira's ability to project and do everything deceased people can do, like flying and walking through people and walls.

Interesting book.  I would recommend it.

Very interesting! Thanks for the info.
Is it the book Projectiology?
I just looked for it online but could only find it for like $50. Is it super thick?

hi there

the one I'm reading is called "Projections of the Consciousness: A diary of out-of-body experiences". It's a small book.  I bought it on ebay.  I also have Projectiology, still in its pack.  Yes, it's a very big book, and is the textbook for the main course in his institute (International Academy of Consciousness).  I am currently on this course so I thought it's worth investing in it.  Actually 50 dollars is cheap.  It's 80 pounds in UK!

I suggest you get the small one for now.  They have an online bookshop or you can check ebay/amazon, your choice.  Their website is: www.iacworld.org

best wishes

IMO there is probbly no way to be absolutely certain if a discarnate is permanently deceased or is temporarily out of body. Unless, of course, one encounters a deceased relative or friend while out of body.
About the silver cord --- very few people who report accounts of their OBEs report seeing the silver cord. So seeing or not seeing a silver cord is Not a good way to judge a discarnate being. I have had dozens of OBEs and have seen a silver cord maybe once, if at all.

In my experience, the astral cord is very rarely visible.  I have only seen it once and then it was more like a tape wafting around my bedroom.  It wasn't cord like at all.

Regarding distinguishing the deceased from other projectors, on those occasions when I've mixed with people who I assumed to be "deceased" going about their business, there was no way to distinguish them from people who were "projecting" (people who still have a physical body - like me).  Similarly, they did not seem to really be aware that I was "projecting" until I told them, and then the reaction was one of surprise "oh so your one of those".

I don't think you can easily tell.

I have never seen the cord after dozens of journeys, and it's been hard to discern if those I have met were fellow projectors still "alive" or people who were "dead", that is, unless we communicated, or I recognized a "deceased" person.

I see my cord quite often.  The first time, I came across it by accident when I put my arms out in front of me to maintain lucidity.  I did this and felt something in the air and on looking more closely, I realised what it was and it was kind of like tinsel and a silvery blue colour and sparkling.  The other day I had an OBE and found myself down the road from where I live and decided to have a feel again so I put my hand to the back of my head and there it was but this time it was more solid almost like rubber and transparent.  I held it in front of me and noticed there was 2 layers to it like 1 cord within another and they twisted round each other.  I thought at the time 'I wonder if I tugged this and it snapped, would I be able to wake up'.

Interesting Clarky... The cord is described differently by different people.  Sometimes it's described as a cord, other times as a tape, sometimes attached to the solar plexus, other times to the head, sometimes it's straight other times wafty.

Sylvan muldoon gives a very precise dsecription in "The Projection of the Astral Body".  All of his experiences were in the RTZ.  Perhaps it's an RTZ thing.  Perhaps we have different "doubles" one for the RTZ, one for the astral etc. The RTZ double might be the only one which is attached by a cord.  This is the old way of thinking.  These days people talk more about phasing and focus levels rather than etheric and astral bodies.

I have no idea what the truth is....  the only time I saw the cord was when I was close to my physical body in my bedroom.  Have never seen it in the astral.
