If I try that at the beginning of the night I find I'm fighting a loosing battle as all I want to do sleep zzzzz.
However I have met with limited success very early in the morning (5ish), when I find it much easier to maintain my focus [:)]

Excellent! I hadn't thought of that. I'll also give it a try. Thanks!
Yeah, I have prescribed the same technique to several friends and even posted it on this board a month or so ago. The thread probably still around some where. I also reccomended doing it in the early morning after having 5 or 6 hours of sleep.
Another thing I reccomended as to lay on you side with you back facing the edge of your bed. Then concentrate on imagining yourself rocing back and forth trying to roll of the edge of the bd and onto the floor. This will start the vibrations. If you do this for while and do not start to feel your astral body moving. Stop for a bit and let your mind rest and settle back into a more relaxed mode. Then try again. Keep repeating until it happens. It may take awhile.

I'm working on a new AP technique. I use a wrist watch with an alarm function. At night when I'm ready to sleep, and I want to AP, I lay on my back, with my watch in my hand. My watch has 6 different alarm settings. I set the alarm for four different setting. I lay down at 10pm. To prevent falling asleep, I set the alarm at 10:45, 11:30, 12:15, and 1:00AM. The constant ringing wakes me up if I fall asleep and I can continue relaxing and working towards separation. So far, its keeping me awake, but after two hours of relaxiation, I have nothing (other than deep relaxiation) to show for it. I'll keep it up for 2-3 months and see what happens. I think it holds promise, but I was wondering if anybody has tried this technique and, if so, what was the outcome?
