Title: Discarding the Method
Post by: Michael_E on February 03, 2005, 14:09:34
A lot of time i hear advice given to newbies that astral projection takes patience and is not easy and it can take up to a year or three months or 90 days to get a decent experience but how many people actually do achieve that goal in that amount of time? What if thinking that it is something that is not natural or easy or will most likely occur in a set amount of days is what is limiting people from having oobe now, tonight? Maybe its the thought of depending on a method that is keeping people from projecting as natuarlly as they want. We dont need a method to breath or dream so why need a method to project?

Is it a coincidence that some people i know who have picked it up right away were also initially taught that projection is simple, easy, natural and possible tonight and every night there after if that is what they sincerely thought to be true, hmmm... what do yall think?

Good thinking.  Although it's not so much what we are told, but what we believe.

So, if I say to everyone that reads this post, they WILL have an OBE in the next three days, no matter what they read/do, how many will believe me?

And of all those who truly believe me, post your experiences here!

When I first learned about obe/astral projection, I didn't read anything at all about it taking a long time and plenty patients. So I practicing every day thinking that that would be the day I'd happen.

lol, Well it took a little less than a year before I had my first Obe.

Hi selski,

Probably not too many people will believe.  Although if they see you and your words as if they were true beyond a doubt i bet it would work.
maybe half of the battle of consciously getting out is simply allowing or giving yourself permission to do so by having faith. People talking about faith healing how bout some faith astral projecting! hehe

I truly believe the idea, ill be the first to post my experience from last night:

I woke up to what felt like a joy buzzer inside my spine, on a point along the micro orbit opposite the navel center. i focused on the buzzing and it intensified on its own until the buzzing spread to my whole body and i shot out like a bullet. I felt like telling myself to stop because moving at the speed was disorientating but let it go to see where i would end up, upon the thought of letting myself go to wherever i will go i slowed down to a halt. I was completely surrounded by a bright light electric blue color, nothing was around just color and empty space. I looked at myself and i was the same color as my surroundings except more fluid looking and irredescent kind of crystalline. It was very peaceful and quiet. i felt a tug and wass pulled back toward my body at the same speed i was shot out from it. I could see my building coming closer below me and i thought i wasnt looking forward to smashing through it but it was nothing and i slowed down right before entering and awoke without a jar. I feel especially refreshed today, and woke up without any grogginess whatsoever, it felt as if i had been awake for a hour already.

The above is inspirational, IMO.

That's a glorious experience Michael_E.  I sense you've got some even better ones to come...

Thank you for sharing.

People get to tied into a 'method'.  It's the I have to do it exactly like the book says or it won't work mentality.  This book says this, that book says that.  When you become locked into a method, you become locked into that methods/authors limitations.

I'll give you a practical anaology.  What if you had the the most beautiful guide for projecting, but it involved a complex writing pattern for your left hand?  It would be 'easy' for 15% of the people and difficult-to-impossible for 84% (assumiing 1% could pull it off anyway).  Does that make it a bad guide?

Now energetically there are parallels.  Some people try classic Etheric OBE, when they could be 'better' at some other technique.  Some people proverbially beat the dead horse <insert dead horse GIF from other thread here> trying and re-trying the same technique.

Then there are the people that are afraid.  They are deep-down afraid to project, but they keep trying.  Did it ever occure to them that their feers may be what is inhibiting them?  Fears on the Astrl Plane manifest quickly, so not projecting is a form os self protection.  So should they stop trying?  No.  Maybe they should work on other aspects of their Self first?  Clearing blockages, and just not energetic, can go a long way to successful projections.

And finally, some people are just inhibited.  For whatever reason, an active block is in place until it is removed.  Sometimes your higher-self knows better.  And sometimes deep down you know your not quite ready to take the plunge.
