Hi everyone,

Over the last 4-5 days, I've been close to going OOB but I have my wife lying next to me in bed snoring and moving around.

I'm waking up in the middle of the night and then trying to use those moments to take advantage of the body being asleep while remaining conscious. I know I'm close (also had my first LD last night – YAY!) but her fidgeting and snoring keeps "startling" me to be aware of her there so I lose my focus. This is especially difficult in that twilight place I am trying to project from.

Anyone here with the same kind of experience, and how can I use it to my advantage?

Thanks!

BTW, I had my first LD last night - it was pretty cool to be in a dream, say "holy cow, I'm dreaming right now" and make a few things happen. I had about a 50% rate of success in manipulating the dream scene. And thanks to the people on this site, ran into a situation that probably would have kicked me out of the dream but I knew to say "OK, chill out and just be in the moment or else this'll be over."

It happens to me too. Fortunately we have different schedules sometimes so I have free time to myself to try then. I almost never can do it when I'm in bed with her.

I get time to practice on weekend mornings.
Our dogs usually wake *ME* up around 9:30am every weekend morning to be let outside.
So lately I've been using this time to practice and listen to my Monroe Gateway Tracks.

Anyways, I come back to bed, put my earbuds in and turn my iPod on.

There have been a few times in the past couple weekends that my girlfriend will start tossing and turning trying to get comfortable, but I try to ignore it and just relax.

I find that if you "accept" into yourself the feelings and motion then it shouldn't bother you too much... unless she, like, screams in your ears or something.  ROFL

Yeah, I've actually had many things from the physical world disturb me while AP-ing. It usually causes me to lose a bit of focus but I tell myself 'that's just the physical world' and then I concentrate harder to get back into things. Most times it works unless the disturbance is just too annoying.

It's just part and parcel of having your primary focus here.  :)
