Hi all, as I mentioned in the welcome area I have had 2 OBE's that I know about over the years & many Lucid dreams, I wanted to share my two OBE's

First one was many years ago, I was around 16yrs old & had been told about Astral Projection by a friend, I remember borrowing a book from the Library, the Llewellyn guide I think it was.

Anyway, I know I tried a few times & kept getting frustrated that nothing ever happened, I got the vibrations thing happening once or twice but other times I think I tried to hard

I laid on my bed & relaxed, it was around 3pm.  I started getting a slight vibration but then fell asleep, I thought I had woken up as the front of my Body from my waste up sat up in bed without the use of my arms & I opened my eyes, my vision was a little blurry but I could see my room around me & there was this loud noise in the background, I then heard my Mum calling me to dinner, I slowly dropped back down to the bed then suddenly leaped out of bed using my arms, the noise was gone and everthing was clear, I was awake

an hour later I heard a loude noise as a Truck rumbled past the house & at that same time my Mum called out that dinner was ready

I remember this so vividly because of what happened & it has stuck with me for years

only recently I started to read up on Astral Projection again after experiencing many Lucid Dreams & purchased one of those Braiwave style Audio CD's just to see if it would help as I never had time to sit down & read books (Although thats about to change) after work one day I listened to this CD for 15-20 minutes part of this track I listened too told me to decide where I wanted to go in the Astral etc, I thought that I like space so much I chose the Moon as my destination, after 15-20 minutes I felt my eyes getting heavy so I gave up & went to bed

I slept like a log until a few hours later when I had a dream which appeared to be another Luicd dream, I was driving around one of those tedious undercover car parks with up & down ramps looking for the exit (Bought on after an experience a week earlier at a plaza with poor signage) however I amazingly enough had good control over the car I was driving, usually when I dream of driving I can never control the speed etc, but this time I thought wow I'm actually slowing down with the breaks going down the offramp, at that moment I suddenly realised I was dreaming however I suddenly lifted from the car & next minute was flying toward the moon, again the moon was blurry but for one brief moment 1 thought I was standing on the lunar surface however I was so excited as I turned to look back at the earth I woke up with a jerk,  I am pretty sure this was an OBE that was a direct response of my realisation of the original Lucid dream, it was amazing

My question is, Is Travelling in the Astral always Blurry? or is this something that clears with practice? & what are my best options for practicing Astral travel?  should I try controlling my Dreams more or should I just start trying Astral techniques?

This is all very exciting to me, it is something I wish I had kept with all those years ago, I kept thinking, I don't have the time & would look into it, yet now 21 years after my first OBE I am finally looking into trying this more & am always after advise & recomendations

Thanks for listening/reading

Aaron

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong area, I was a little confused over Astral & OBE & then after posting this realized I probably should have posted it in the next section down

It can be blurry at times.  I think it's to do with level of lucidity, focus and awareness.  I guess it's just like physical reality - sometimes we have crystal clear moments and sometimes our senses are dulled.  I have found that in my experience, touching something (anything, a wall, person or the ground) can enhance the environment.

Seeing as you have already had success with dream control, I would stick with this.  It is my preferred method and I'm passionate about lucid dreaming at present.  :-)

You will find that even though we have these experiences, we still debate in relation to the terminology.  Was it AP, lucid dream, or OBE?  From my point of view, they are all the same, with slight variations here and there, some too small to distinguish.  I tend to use the term "experience", but as you get used to the Forums, you'll notice terminology you may not be used to.  Just ask if you don't know what it means - we try to be as clear as possible, and not shroud the subject in mystical terms, but occasionally we need to use a phrase that best describes what we have experienced.

Best of luck and I hope to be reading about more of your travels soon.

PS  Don't worry about which section to post in - I never know where to put mine either!  :-D  If one of the moderators thinks it would be more appropriate in another section, they'll move it.

Thanks for the advice & the info Sarah

Very much appreciated

Yes I have had a lot of fun with Lucid dreams over the years, unfortunately they are still random & sometimes I can Lucid dream once or twice a month, other times It can be months in between, never had a set regime / plan for this so I shall investigate it further as it would be nice to be able to plan when I want to have them than to just have it happen occasionally at random, again thanks for the advice  :)

Aaron

You're welcome.

One thing that works for me is to start a dream journal.  Write every one down each day, even the nonsense ones.  Think about them, ponder the meaning and take a great interest in your dreams, don't dismiss them.

You will find that not only does this enhance dream recall, but you will also have many more lucid dreams.
