I have read a book (maybe Robert Bruce's, can't remember exactly) and the author had a blind friend who was able to project. When interviewed about his experiences he says that he can see in the astral, but not third dimensionally. He can see pictures hanging on a wall or a desk and he would see them both with the same depth perception.
It would be interesting to find out whether or not the gentleman had been blind since birth. In fact I'm going to differentiate between those who were born with a sense and lost it later and those who never had it or never had it to any great degree. Like being born partially blind or deaf... I wonder if that changes the answers, probably will.
I've always thought that those who were born blind would percieve what their mind thinks in the astral. It would be very strange because whatever thought they have for "tree" would probably be even a little different to what people who can see in the physical would see. I would imagine that, as long as they have a picture of the object in their mind's eye, that picture would be projected onto the astral and manifest as a that object, and the blind projector would recognize it.
I have nothing to base that on, just my thoughts.
Do a search. This has been discussed before. I believe it is Robert Bruce who wrote that people who at one time could see can see in the astral. People who were blind since birth could not see visually, but are very aware of the environment they are in. He concluded that vision is a learned skill and since blind people from birth never learned to see they do not see visually on the astral. This in no way appears to impair them as they can still "sense" and "know" the environment.
That could actually be an 'advantage' to them since so many A.P.'ers have told me that you have to be careful not to let your eyes fool or decieve you in the Astral world when you first start. That would be one less problem facing new Astral Projector's who don't have sight and haven't since birth.
When in the astral you're a single point of consciousness. You don't get informations by the physical way of "sensing". When you get back to your body, your astral memories are "transformed" to fit what your physical brain can understand. So, blind born people will never get "pictures" from the astral, but the informations collected in the astral will be stocked another way.
Have you ever been in a dream where you had informations beyond sensations ? Like, you knew who a dreamed person was (in reality) whereas he/she didnt actually have the face of the real person. So how could you recognize him/her ? Because anyway, within your dream, you never had "visual" informations. Your visual memories are just a poor reliable interpretation of what you experienced.
Sorry for my very bad english ! I hope you get the point.
At the risk of sounding like a ignorant butt, what do blind people see or sense in the astral? How do deaf people percieve things? Do we even have any members of this site who are disabled in some way? How about the intellectually disabled? I seriously wonder these things. I truly want to know what it is that the blind man doesn't see in the astral or does see?
