Title: Does anyone else grit their teeth a bit too hard when exiting some times?
Post by: majour ka on December 28, 2011, 03:39:34
I know know this may sound weird, but some times if I have what I could describe as a rushing exit, what I mean is Im awake enough to know im moving into obe and theres that mad rushing sound in the head...I some times find my teeth grit really hard as my focus moves into my astral body...it can be really annoying because the pain in my teeth can call me back to body consciousness  :|  it even happens some times when ive become lucid and use the dream to AP. It only seems to happen if im exploring out of the sleep state, but not so much if I was to sit and plan an AP, which I find even stranger? lol

Does any one else ever get this?

Cheers

Hi,
If forced awake by someone even from deep phasing I suffer a stinking headache. Eating seems to remove it.
Strangely....

i found that taking some valerian root or passion flower extract 30 min before attempted projection or before bed, seems to help some physical tension issues like clenching teeth or muscles.

Sounds like a good plan. Soooo strange though, last night, found myslef lucid, so thought right im going see my friends in Manchester who have recently had twins. I made it to their front room sorted! then as i was trying to find my way up the stairs I got lost and next thing im back in my room half out of my body with teeth clenching tight. So its seems to be happening spontaneously, really strange..  :|

i would come back to my body like that to discover my fists or back muscles or other muscle group clenched tight occasionally.  i know the feeling well.  that's when i started taking the herbal supplements.  however, i also found that those are signs of mental anxiety/tension and some extra time should be spent in relaxation before practice.

Yeah you could be right, but it happens most when I become lucid and explore from there, ie not if I decided to relax and travel. So im thinking some how my mind is acknowledging my body and theres tension being created. I described to my friend the wall paper I saw as i was heading through the wall of her living room and she said no wonder I got lost, i went into the chimney. It was when I got lost that the tension happened and I got called back...mmmm, theres something in this lol...ill experiment tonight and report back

do you carry muscular tension in your shoulders?

if it's viscero-somatic tension then it often moves up from the mid back to the shoulders and ultimately to bruxism/grinding teeth.

if you can alleviate the tension in the shoulders the tooth grinding should be fine.

if it's emotional tension, then lowering stress during the day usually remedies it.

if you let the stress build, then it will manifest during sleep or meditation.

either way, it's due to stress.  what is your stress?

Hi thanks for your insightful response, I do indeed suffer from a thoracic and shoulder injury which does effect my neck. However it doesn't manifest during meditation and I dont grind my teeth in my sleep. It seems there is a direct link between my mental stress of me getting lost in AP and the tension created in my physical body as its only time it occurs, thank you thou and regards.

I also get a headache. I didn't know that it was common. That's interesting. :-)
