ive only ap successfully a few times where i could fly and go anywhere on earth i wanted... most of the time im in my room jumping to different planes that are similar or in no where close to earth... i finally ap last night after a while... i always get a head ache when i get up to walk around... thats how i usually know im ap... i do the good old turn the lights on trick too... it was pretty fun... some dark figure was at my door trying to get in but i didnt let him... then a demon of some sort pulled my legs trying to drag me into some dimension.. but i know how to fend myself so i just ignored him...i dont know what it was but i could still feel my physical body... and someone was playing crappy music... i turned the music into something i liked instead though...

Everything is thought controlled. As you always get a headache, it's expected. This expectation will give you the headache.
That's how it works.
On many occasions I've been at the bottom of a deep lake. I enter and leave many times, still warm and dry. Thats what I want to feel. Others are cold and wet, thats what they expected.
The demon at the door, thats another expectation. They are your imaginations. Demons with great power stopping at a thin piece of wood, nah. If they were real we would all be affected.
Its self made fear from reading some rubbish. After 50 years of APing and never been troubled by a single demon, they are non-existant.
If you actually manage to see more than a shadow, think its a fluffy cloud. It will be exactly that. Your thoughts and memories do the rest.
Thoughts manifest, have some nice ones.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Sometimes if you're not relaxed enough, your neck will tense up and give you a headache.  So it's not the projection, it's the tension that does it.  Progressive muscle relaxation may help with this.  Also, while you're practicing (before the trance gets deep) you can move a little and get comfortable.  It's when you're 'almost there' that you don't move, but don't think about it.

The second thing- the 'demon' effect can be caused by sensory feedback from your own projected energy.  You start to move out, the energy is detected by your body and has a 'freakout' because it senses 'someone' in your private space, and then the fear causes a feedback loop with your mind.  Then your mind gives it the expected (scary, monsterish, hooded figure, whatever scares you) shape, and it scares you, may even approach you.  You can consider this a test of courage, and go on with your projection, or, if you feel you can move, go towards it instead of away from it.  You'll reintegrate and find yourself out.
Why?

I get this like 20% of the times I meditate. I think this can be caused by multiple things. Like tension in your neck.
My theory behind this for me personally is because I think my body is very relaxed while my mind is still quite active. This for me cause headache.
Also if you try hard to fall into a deeper trance. This is for me imagine a falling sensation which I made myself. This cause very intense feeling and causes a trance state fast with headache as a side effect.

Yes, I wake up with Occular headaches, but not all the time. Just with really intense ones when my 3rd eye is very active.

Occular headaches are the ones when your (regular not 3rd : )  eye is throbbing with pain right behind your eye.

I went two weeks doing really applying some mental and energy gymnastics I learned while reading about Ankh sexuality loops... and after 2 weeks my mind was on overdrive and my head felt zonked... extreme migraine...

Funny how the word occular and occult look alike : )
