Ok, I know, use the search function noob

I have looked and gone over the various methods for OBE. As you all know, all I have to do is take a vicodin any time of day and when I sleep at night, paralysis is 90% sure to happen. However I want to learn how to do this without taking drugs. For those about to bark at me and haven't read my previous posts, I'll reiterate. I never took vicodins for OBE. As previously stated, I've had sleep paralysis and the intense vibrations and fear 100x before and never knew what it meant until recently.

Ok, my question. What is the best method to induce a sober  OBE.
Out of all of the various methods, what works the best if anything.
Any help is appreciated. I've read over the 100's of posts on this and I'm a bit confused as to what I should start with. I tried the past 2 nights with no luck using the breath in hold for 2 seconds, exhale with no luck. I'm also coming off a 2 week vicodin cruise as well and it's not a pleasant feeling if you've never had the pleasure so perhaps that's inhibiting my progress as well. Any help is appreciated.

BUDDHAHOOD - THE END OF SUFFERING

Kevin,
Keeping in mind that what works best varies from person to person, what works best for me is the interrupted sleep method.  When I really want to project I will get up after sleeping six or seven hours, stay up an hour or two and then go back to bed.  It seems to work best when I go back to bed between 4 and 5 a.m.  When I go back to bed all I try to do is relax, and fall asleep slowly.  This method works for me a  very high percent of the time.

First of all , I would like to STRONGLY warn you against taking drugs for OBEing .

And, for the best easy method of OBEing as you ask . .. . huh! if it was that easy! then everyone on the planet would be out of bodies :)

Perseverance is the key :)

BirthOfTheNight

Hi, I'm nine-teen years old and I first discovered projection when I was fifteen.  I was, of course, amazed and got my hands on every book/article/site I could. ANYWAY, the point is. I feel that I know just about every "technique/method" known to man. However, almost five years later, I still haven't had a single conscious-exit OBE.  But, I feel that I have finally cracked the code (at least for me).  I feel that I am beginning to understand that you must find the way on your own.  You must look within to find the best way to get where you want to be and to become who you want to be (on the astral).  When dealing in something as spiritual as projection, you are your greatest teacher.  It is definitely wise to get as much information as possible, but you have to scan through it all. You have to find what is true for you, personally, and go with it.  I understand now that I have become very knowledgeable in the art of astral projection, even though I haven't experienced it yet. I know this sounds impossible, but it makes me believe that I will project when I am ready.  One last thing: knowledge on the subject is like ammo, you can never have enough.  And when you finally do make it to the astral, you will be prepared.

I know that post makes me look really cocky. I just read it and it sounds like I am saying I am the all knowing teacher of projection... Nothing could be further from the truth. I want to present myself correctly; I do believe my knowledge on the subject has grown intensely in the past few years. I am constantly reading and finding out new ideas and views. However, I don't want to act like a "know-it-all" when I haven't even accomplished my goal yet (conscious-exit).  I want to be respectful and humble towards all those who have accomplished this.

Consistent, frequent practice is highly important.  Try and practice every day if you can.

True, it will vary from person to person, but the best method I have found is simply seeing through your eyelids.

I have a popcorn textured ceiling and I will concentrate on being able to see that texture.  Most of the times it takes a few minutes and you can start to see the texture.  As you continue to focus and zero in on the picture, you should start to shift into oobe.  Sometimes you may begin to see something else like a door or a dresser.  Whatever is the most familiar and easiest to see is what you should use to focus in on.  Don't expect to sit up and be in your exact room in this time.  It depends a lot on what your focus was.  Pulsing, surging and the clarity in which you see are pretty common.  Once practiced and achieved you will realize that you always have access to this realm by merely seeing it with your spiritual eyes(some refer to as third eye) ......... good luck!!
