Has anyone tried the SaltCube.com Video? does it work? I dont want to spend the money if this is just another gimmick
Eliza
I've only tried the techniques in part 1 of the video, and I'd have to say, yes I think they do work, but at the same time they are not particuarly revolutionary techniques.
Also I happen to know that the saltcube guy is planning to release another film soon so the current DVD may soon be no longer available.
If you want a simple techique to OBE I would recommend the DVD, it is worth the money.
Hi Eliza,
I just got the Saltcube videos last week and tried them the first time on Monday. I swear they do work! Matt really is onto something. It worked for me the first time! It's no gimmick.
Here's what I did. I created an OBE timer CD using the 1, 2, and 4 minutes of silence and the beeps. I woke up at around 4:30 and stayed up for like 15 - 20 minutes and then went back to sleep. I have a small boom box that plays MP3 files and I connected my wife's ipod earbud headphones to my boom box which is sitting on a nightstand next to our bed. I didn't use both earbuds, just the one for the ear that was not on the pillow because I sleep on my side. One is enough. It took me a while to fall asleep because it was new having the earbud and the cord and I was wondering all about if it works or if I would feel silly.
I had an experience that, to me, seems like it was an OBE that turned into a lucid dream. I had strong vibrations accompanied by the buzzing/ringing sound. I'd never had such strong vibrations before or heard that buzzing/ringing sound before, I'd only read about it. I've been studying and practicing this for about 4 months now but only now with the Saltcube information I got last week was I able to have the experience I had. I felt like I slid out of my body and floated to the other side of the room and out the door. I looked at my hands and had the "melting hands" phenomenon. My hands looked like my normal hands until they started to melt away. I reached my hand (which looked translucent) through the wall and the wall was the same color as it is in real life. I looked at my carpet which was the same color as well, but it had a pattern on it which it doesn't really have in real life. At that point I was able to float and fly, but the environment I was in wasn't the RTZ because nothing accurately resembled real life after seeing the carpet. I saw myself in a mirror and it looked mostly like me. After floating into this one house, I found that I was able to walk instead of just floating and I felt pressure in my feet on the floor and was able to touch a doorknob and feel it. There is so much more I need to test in order to get more personal verification, but this experience was very intense. It lasted at least 3 minutes, which for a beginner seems like a long time. I'd had six lucid dreams in the last four months without Saltcube, but none of them started with the traditional OBE exit - vibrations and buzzing/ringing. They all started out as regular dreams in which I realized I was dreaming, and I had little control over how to induce them. I tried it on Tuesday but with no effects because I didn't stay up for any length of time after I woke up. All I did was wake up and put the earbud in. I tried it this morning but I got up at 4:30 and stayed up for almost an hour. I think an hour is too long. So far, 15 - 20 minutes I think is enough for me. Another thing - I sleep with my wife and our baby and I was still able to do this. This morning I tried with the earbud for over an hour with no success. Then I took it out and went back to sleep. I then had a dream where I realized I was dreaming and as soon as I realized that I started to have the strong vibrations, but with less buzzing/ringing. I tried to make myself exit my body, but it didn't work. Probably "trying" too hard doesn't work; I should probably just relax and enjoy the vibrations.
I haven't yet tried any of his other techniques from the first video or any of them from the second video. Right now, I'll focus on getting as many results from the timer technique (also called "rythmic napping"). Tomorrow morning I'm going to wake up at 5am, get some water, use the bathroom, stay up for 15 - 20 minutes, and then go back to bed. I emailed Matt who said he'd like to put my story on his site.
I feel like I've reached a new level (still beginner though) with the timer technique. And what's interesting is that since my experience is very real to me (vibrations + buzzing/ringing + lucid dream) it validates to me the veracity of other peoples' accounts which are in many cases much more profound than mine. That doesn't mean that this lucid dream/OBE stuff proves to my satisfaction the existence of a soul (which is most of why I'm doing this) but it does mean they're a very real and controllable phenomenon. Exactly what the experiences are is still unknown. My current goal is to explore the RTZ and to bring back information which I can later verify with someone else. Once I've done this to my satisfaction, then I'll work on healing, improving personal skills, exploring astral planes, etc. etc. BTW, I've tried the hemi-sync CDs, and so far they've not helped at all. Also, you might consider keeping a journal about all your significant efforts and experiences.
Cheers,
Atraveler
Do you need to set your alarm to get up at a specific time for this technique or is it Ok if you just do it if you wake naturally during the night?
Most people who use this method, popularly known as the "wake back to bed" method ("WBTB"), say that it's best to wake up around 5am. I've found though that anytime in the morning when you're still somewhat sleepy is good. I usually set my alarm, get up for a while, and go back to bed. I tried it this morning but no effects today. It might be because I went to bed too late, drank too much, and hadn't been sleeping enough hours the previous evenings because I've been practicing this. The later in your sleep cycles the better, ostensibly because of the melatonin/seratonin balance after you've slept most of the night. You know what's interesting...Not having any lucid dream or OBE experience is also interesting because it's a stark contrast to having one. It reaffirms the idea that lucid dreams/OBEs are so much different than normal sleeping and dreams. I like the point you made though - maybe it might be better if you woke up naturally instead of made yourself wake up.
Here are some great MP3s to listen to:
Download these two MP3 audio files of interviews. Both are very good!

atraveler,
How are you progressing with the saltcube DVD?
Best Regards
David
I went ahead and ordered saltcube. It was only $19. I am sure I will learn something from it and will let folks know how well the techniques work.
Interested to hear about your results. I didn't have much success with the Saltcube alarm system, but had better luck with other WBTB methods. I think combining Saltcube with energy work and affirmations and a routine of some sort would be the best combination.
Hi MinstruelZ,
Well, I bought it and have only had one chance to try it so far. I was using the resist the urge to roll over or move your eyes technique around 12:30 PM and I entered vibrational state. I was not able to go any further because I was taking a nap with my 3 year old and she was rolling around :).
I will let you know how it goes. I have created a timer with Audacity where I overlayed a timer over Hemi-Sync Condition C. The track is 2 hours long and I have not tried it yet.
dbmathis also interested in buying the saltcube dvd.Are there many techniques or is the saltcube dvd basicly stuff we all know already from books or said as advise here at astralpulse.Looking forward to your opinion on saltcube.
I will watch the second part of the DVD and let you know. Based on what I saw on the first video I was able to learn several things that I did not find on this forum. although this is a big forum though and I may have missed things.
The nice thing about these videos is how professionally Matt presents the information with all of the illustrations.
dbmathis,i know you said you only watched the first part of the dvd but i was wondering,by just watching the first part do you recommend saltcube already.Cause I think im gonna get it. Thankyou......
I think it's worth 19 dollars :). There is very valuable information there that may help you. I will make sure to write about my experiences here on this forum and on my blog.
Let me know how it goes if you decide to buy it.
Thankyou dbmathis, I been trying to get into the mind awake body asleep for quite some time, maybe this will help.
