Double (or triple) False Awakening

As I hoped, reading Astral Pulse triggered some strange experiences last night.  Its weird how reading and writing about projection seems to help trigger them!

So last night, after spending alot of time yesterday reading stuff on here, I went to bed and put on Xanths 4hz binaural track for the first time.  I have to say it brought me from an irritated state of mind down to a light trance very nicely.  I didnt check the BWgen profile but after a while it started to bring me back up, I assume it is designed to go down to 4hz then back up?  Anyway I then put on Condition B from TMI which I normally use to get to sleep of late.  I fell asleep.

I recall dreaming about some guy who was teaching me skills.  I remembered thinking this was like Don Juan Matus, at which point I became slightly lucid.  In this lucid "dream" I was in a one on one session with this person who was taking me through a checklist of needed skills. I dont recall what they were - I wasnt 100% lucid.

Then I woke up - I woke my wife to tell her how happy I was about what happened.  She congratulated me.  Then I realised I was still not really awake.  The reality felt like the one I had just woken up from.  I then tried to wake up properly but went back into the "dream" with this guy teaching me stuff. He seemed to be continuing from where we left off just before I "woke".

I woke up again and picked up my iphone and sent myself an email about my false awakening and the teacher so I wouldnt forget.  Once I had sent the email I realised I was STILL not awake because my iphone screen was configured very differently and I still didnt feel fully awake (or fully lucid for that matter).  Once again I lay back and re-entered the dream of the teacher.  Finally I really woke up with my head spinning and a need to use the bathroom!

There may have been another false awakening in there too as I recall multiple occurrences of seeing the teacher type dude but I cant remember specifically.

I have no clue what all this means but it was my first strange experience since practically Christmas when I last Phased.  I was never fully lucid, but lucid enough to realise it was not physical reality.

Cool experience.  8-) I love false awakenings. They often trigger lucidity for me when I realize reality fluctuations, such as looking at my cellphone and not being able to read the text. Reading about this stuff triggers projections for me too - especially when using the "wake back to bed" method.

Reading and writing helps bring on the onset of projection because you are conditioning your mind for the experience.

I agree with c0sm0nautt, that Was a Cool experience.
I also like false awakenings (FAs). A FA challenges the very core belief that a person knows whether he/she is awake or dreaming. After experiencing a FA it is not so easy to take that for granted. Having had many FAs before is one reason why I now perform Reality Checks (RC) several times a day. I like to term RCs "State Tests" (as in what State of consciousness am I now in). The idea is to make RCs a habit and then perform one during a dream, thereby becoming lucid.
btw I once had 3 FAs in one night and all three FAs soon led directly to an OBE. So it is possible to convert a FA into either an OBE or a LD.

Yeah I really want to make RCs a habit but I always forget!

That is an awesome experience.  can you remember if the checklist of skills was astral related, like consciousness tricks and energy manipulation,  or physically related like stuff you would use in physical reality.  The reason I ask is because lately I feel like I have been in an astral school where astral teachers are teaching me how to use my mind to the full potential.

I have actually had a bad experience with false awakenings before.  I seriously woke up inside a dream about 15 times.  Every time I thought I was really awake and something bad would be happening, like my house being robbed, then I would realize its a dream, try to wake up, think I woke my self up, then something bad would happen again, realize its a dream, try to wake up, and on and on and I thought i wouldnt be able to wake up and I was legitimately scared that I couldn't wake up.  Finally I actually did wake up and went snowboarding ahahah. pretty ridiculous though.

Sometimes I absolutely hate false awakenings. There have been times where I've had more than 30 of them in one night, and it can become almost maddening. However, once I get used to them, I can easily have lucid dreams.

Use them to your advantage!

Yup, it's a 60 minute sound file.
The first 10 minutes take you slowly down to 4hz... then keeps you there for 40 minutes... then brings you back up over another 10 minutes to the starting hz.  :)

I'm glad it worked well for you.

I really cant remember, but I had the feeling that whoever it was "teaching" me was a bit annoyed that I kept disappearing to have a False Awakening!  Unfortunately I really dont recall what the content was :(

False awakenings are always an interesting thing for me once I'm actually awake haha, but I would agree that I've had a terrible experience where I couldn't wake up no matter what I tried and had well over 10 or 15 false awakenings in one sitting, it was absolutely miserable at the time, but I'm glad it happened. What I'm trying to do is to capitalize on them, a lot of times I don't do much besides fall back asleep, but I'm going to try and remember to actually get out of my bed and try to make something happen. But a pretty cool experience man, just try and enjoy em

yeah i feel the same.  I definitely do use them to my advantage now.  It was just anoying because i wanted to wake up to go snowboard but i couldnt
