Dream messages from the Shadow?

I have been trying to project a lot lately, waking myself up in the middle of the night to ensure 2-3 projection attempts per night. The only success I have had in projecting was from a lucid dream conversion, which I ended up in the basement of my house. During this specific experience as I was coming to waking consciousness a sinister sounding voice spoke to me for a few moments (the "dream voice" described by Wilcock).

I've been trying a combined visualization/affirmation technique for the past couple days. This method has brought me to the vibrational stage several times before, yet nothing recently.

One of my later dreams of the night was very interesting, and I interpreted it as a threat from my shadow self:

I was walking with my little brother home from the park when a police van drove up next to us. A man got out and began to question us and walk with us the few blocks back to my house. He questioned us and showed me a few pictures of a suspect that had robbed a Toys'R'Us recently. I didn't deny that the person in the pictures looked exactly like me, and I had remembered in the dream that I had projected a few days earlier and was in a Toys'R'Us. The suspect in the pictures looked exactly like me except he wore a black shirt with yellow writing on it that I did not own. As we got back to my house I told my Mom the story, and she remembered that I had told her about my OBE where I smashed my brothers windows and was in a Toys'R'Us. As soon as she said this I noticed this "copy" of myself, or at least the sense of him, standing in my front doorway. All the lights in my house suddenly snapped off and I awakened.

I have never had this Toys'R'Us projection in RL, is was something my dream self identified with. Is my shadow trying to scare or warn me from projecting? Ken Wilber says the shadow will try and screw you up along your spiritual progress... how can I make peace with this part of myself? Can anyone think of any other interpretations?

I've never heard of this shadow before, but I do know that nobody but God can stop you from projecting, so forget the shadow and keep on trying. In fact, if this shadow does exist, its probably conjured up by our own minds and is really yourself. If you want to make peace with it, all you have to do is tell it you want to make peace with it. Magickist, have you met God or is it just your belief that a God exists? Even if you did meet an entity that proclaimed to be God, how would you go about proving such a thing.

Yes, I do believe in God, though I've never communicated with him. However, if you don't then substitute "God" with "The Multiverse" or whatever controls it. Unless you think matter created itself o.O

Honestly I find myself calling it the universe, however that's a bad habit I need to break because that seems to have several different meanings based on who i'm talking too.

I try to stay neutral when it comes to these type things because honestly I don't like mixing my beliefs with advice because I know that others most likely will not share my beliefs that can't be proven either. That's what i meant.

Regarding the statement about the universe / god / whatever stopping someone from projecting or advancing spiritually. Have you had experienced a situation where this happened? When it happened did this entity announce that it was blocking your attempt and that it was god? Once again, what if  hypothetically I was very advanced at AP and I blocked your attempt and told you I was god? Would you believe me? Not that I even know if blocking you is possible, but what if?

I have heard some people say that we are all just small parts of god and if this is true your statement would simply mean that the only thing stopping a person is the person trying.

I've never had this happen to me but logically only a higher being such as your own creator could control your life in such a way without you knowing it. If you did stop me from aping the only way to tell me it was you would be through a metaphysical way which could probably only be achieved through me aping, so I would never know anyone was blocking me. Then you have to think who would spend 24/7 of their life waiting for me to try to project? It probably isn't even possible either if you think about it.

I not so sure I buy into a creator, but if you think so that's great.

To me it seems more logical that humans don't have the mental capacity to understand the nature of the universe, including whether or not something created us and has control over us in some hierarchical system
