Post by: Lookedynamixhales on October 13, 2013, 10:51:10
So last night i went to bed later than usual i attempted to project then decided that i valued sleep to much :-) anyway this is where i get confused because then i feel like i have awoke and i get very intense vibrations and float out of my body i became uncomfortable and return to my body after that i feel i am uncontrollable leaving my body then i am positive i had a false awakening after this then i wake up confused as i feel like i have passed through like 3 layers of consciousness in a few minutes has this happened to anyone else ?

I'm a stickler for that statement "dreaming about projection"...

Now, unless what you mean is that the SUBJECT of the dream was projection... for example, you were talking to a friend about astral projection.  That, to me, is dreaming of projection.

But what most people I've spoken to about this subject mean is that they were aware they were dreaming, yet the experience still felt "strange" and "dreamlike" to them.
First, you can't "dream about projection" in that manner... you're either aware that you're non-physical (projection) or you're not aware that you're non-physical (dream).  <-- this alludes to the idea that dreams aren't what we think they are, but that's a discussion for another time.

From reading your post, you had "pre-projection sensations"... in the same way that people meditating might have these sensations, you experienced them while falling asleep or coming out of sleep.  Unless you were non-physical AND aware that you were non-physical, then it's not a projection.

Now let's address your false awakening...
A false awakening is a dream in which you believe you're PHYSICALLY awake and going about your business.
It's a projection in which you think you're awake, yet you don't realize you're actually still in the non-physical.
It's a projection, in as much as a dream is a projection... you're still unaware, but it's still a big step in the right direction.  :)

So to recap... you experienced pre-projection sensations & a false awakening.  That's a great start in my opinion.  Keep at things and if you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.  :)

This is one subject in which we agree 100%.

Thank you for your help i have had quite a few conscious exits though with the help of franks posts and your short guide :-) i started by exiting my body and floating out now i enter the astral anyway what stuck out to me about this experience is that i was aware i was asleep however i was in my bed then projected but i know i was asleep then i exited my body then had the false awakening of being in my bed then woke up properly in my bed fully conscious of everything that happened so it was very confusing :-)

I too have dreams about projecting (which I haven't yet experienced to compare to the 'real' thing) wherein I start floating out of my bed.Basically its more like a false awakening. Usually I look down and see an empty bed and become lucid.I guess this isn't much help.. :-)

That's not "Dreaming" about Projection, it is Projection!

Yup, I'm with Lionheart on that.  That *IS* a projection.

All non-physical experiences are projections... what your aiming for is a projection in which you're aware, even a little bit, of the fact that you're non-physical.
When you "become lucid", in even the smallest way, you're having a conscious projection. :)

Well, as I said, you experienced pre-projection sensations along with a false awakening.
But understand, per my own definitions, you project each and every night of your life... you're projecting RIGHT NOW, in fact.
The question isn't whether you projected or not... because projection IS a part of consciousness... the question is did you directly experience a reality which you recognize as not being this physical reality WHILE being aware and awake.  :)

I see well thank you for all your help Xanth its been very helpful I do have one question though is there any way during projection of going to the astral instead of exiting the body or is the key to this just intent? I know you have other definitions or more than likely do but if you could relay your response to the question in the same way which I asked the question it would be very helpful :)

When you phase (that is, attempt to merge into one of your vision screens) you are going into an astral scape- if you do an exit technique that uses exteriorization techniques to get out of your body you usually end up in the real time zone (aka 'etheric' or 'your room'.)  Where you end up usually has to do with what you get as the symptom.  If you get visuals (the screen) you end up in the 'astral proper'.  If you end up in your room and want to end up in an astral scape, look for any windows or doors that don't belong in your room, or any vortex will do.  Go through/in them and you'll end up in an astral scape when you 'arrive'.

Look up Phasing in the search engine here. With Phasing you just shift. No need to climb out of something you aren't in to begin with!

I believe they're one in the same... separated only by your belief that there's a difference.
It's all perspective.  Everything is perspective.  What's yours?  :)

Sounds like you projected. But eventually lost control or lucidity.

That's the name of the game... losing or gaining conscious awareness, or as you said it: Lucidity.

It actually can work in reverse too here in this physical reality.
Have you ever been so drunk at a party or something, with friends, and you can't remember *ANYTHING* that happened?  Yet your friends will recant to you the most embarrassing tales of what you did?

Well, that's kind of a reverse dream... in that you were physically awake, yet had no awareness... in the same way that you can be dreaming, yet have no awareness.  Creepy eh?  When you start putting two and two together and thinking about these things not as separate experiences, but a continuum of awareness.
