That's fine. If you can get out of body already and you don't have to work with energy exercises, you don't have to. You might find that your experiences are better in the way that a trained physical body can make physical activities easier and more pleasant. You don't have to. For people like me, though, it is nice to have something to do while waiting to succeed in learning astral projection. It is nice to be doing something now which will enhance my experiences later.
Hi Tom,
I have not managed anything more than waking in my dreams and having brief moments of lucidity. Consious prjection still evades me.
I have tried some energy excersises over a long period, but as yet still haven''t managed to project.
All I am saying is that we should look at the bigger picture. I'm no expert, I'm still struggling to find the right technique for me.
Through talking to others, I feel I might hit the jackpot one day and find my missing ingredient!!!!
My first attempts were back in 1988. It is unfortunate that it is taking so long. I am very stubbornly holding on to false beliefs or something. Identifying them will be more difficult.
It is nice to have energy techniques to work on while in the body. There are other things, too, which can be done while waiting to apply them in the astral. It is very important to learn not to be carried away by circumstances. Meditation can be helpful, too.
I do not think that any energy work is really required to project. I projected before I ever did any energy work. I do think that it helps you to get use to your energies and concentrate on something other than the physical. Also if you are concentrating on your energies and not your physical body then you should be able to project easier as you need to kind of forget about your physical body. So as far as I can tell no energy work is required to project.

Well, energy work is you can say the training of your energy body. However, even without this training you still have one. You just do not know direct that energy at will. For me an OBE feels just as if every Chakra of the body is activated. If you understand a Chakra as a "hole" between the physical body and the energy body it makes sense that energy work can help. The astral body leaves the body "through" the Chakras. Taoists say that for an OBE the spirit leaves the body through a a certain Chakra.
So, even if we do not know it we still "use" that energy it still is necessary to leave the body. Perhaps it *IS* even what leaves the body.

If all of us travel to the astral on a nightly basis, why do we need to do energy development? This may sound like a naive question, but I think that some people have a natural talent and others have to work harder to achive conscious projection.
If you can:
relax deeply
let go of your fears
maintain a consistant routine (like playing golf, your muscles remember how to swing the club, so does your mind and body)
use your desire
maintain an emotional balance
find a technique that feels natural to you
Don't make projecting the most important thing in your life; it isn't!
Then these will help carry you ever forward to your goal
Feel free to add, remove, agree or disagree with the list. But try and explain why there is so much emphasis on energy work and trying to make the vibrations happen rather than working on outright projection technique.
I seldom feel more energised than when I have just sat back and relaxed and try to project using rope technique, or straight visualisation methods.
