I was dreaming this morning that I was In my granparents house. I can't remember much to be honest but there were a few family members present. I started to have a conversation with my grandad, but then I realized that my grandad passed away several years ago and that I must be dreaming! The feeling of this realisation was great. The people in my dream seemed to become distant or possible disappeared, not sure I as I was so focused on my recent realization.
Then I thought, what do I do now? I remembered that I should be able to walk through walls etc so I tried to put my head through the door! as you  do, lol. It felt REALLY weird but it did work! Then sadly I woke up!
Was wondering if this was a lucid dream or a projection of some sort?
Either way it was great!
This experience has kind of jogged a memory from a couple of others dreams where I have spoken with my dead grandad. I realised then that I was dreaming too. Seems to be a trigger for realising I'm dreaming somehow. Kinda cool to talk to my Grandad tho, even tho it is just my imagination!

I'm fairly certain you had a dream-initiated projection... dream scenarios that have unique ties to one's physical life can allow this. The fact that the dream characters disappeared/became distant is a common feature of the etheric plane.

I noticed during an etheric projection string I had last night... it's nearly impossible for me to move through nontransparent barriers without ending the experience... windows and opened doors are the only exits available most of the time. You may have a similar situation.

Anyway, congrats.

Thanks for the quick reply and for your info Astral316!
I'll definitely give a window a try next time :)
Really please with the experienced and would like to thank everyone who chips in with advice in this post and for help from previous/ future posts.
It really is a big help to a novice like me!
I mean you cant just tell anyone about trying to put ones head through a door! lol
Cheers

Cogratulations! To me lucid dreams are projections too but they tend to be more subjective or are a product of Frank Kepple's Focus 2 oC (I can't stress anymore how much that fellow was on the right track). The characters usually become vague and sometimes zombie or mannequin-like once you become lucid. This is a good indication that they are representations of thoughts that originate from your personal unconscious mind. This area of consciousness is great because you can really get to know yourself and turn your weaknesses into strengths. It makes the perfect self-therapy in that you deal with elements in your mind directly. If you project here already lucid and you find yourself in inaccurate replicas of your bedroom/house, you have basically entered the dreamworld through the back door because you are consciously aware that what you are perceiving is not physical.

By the way, if you project to Focus 3 oC or even encounter visiting Focus 3 entities within the Focus 2 context, you will be able to tell straight away that they are sentient and having an objective existence in terms of consciousness. If, for instance, you are dreaming and you become lucid, if all the other characters acquire that "fake" look apart from your grandad, then chances are that it is really him. I speak this from personal experience and this is why I keep saying that Frank Kepple's theoretical views ring true. They tally very closely to my personal experience. So did Monroe's.

I've had a very similar experience with both of my dead grandfathers. I became lucid upon the realization that they were dead and then was able to carry out short conversations. As Summerlander said, the other characters in the dream kind of "stopped" when I became lucid but my grandfather was sentient and seemed to have a life of his own. The dream environment was my "land lords" house which was atop these cliffs and waterfalls in this beautiful astral beach environment.

Just read the Keppler Resource (http://www.astralpulse.com/frankkepple.html). Good stuff.

I thought this paragraph was telling to my and the OPs experience:

"I should point out that although this is your own personal area and cannot be experienced directly by others, it is still possible for someone to communicate with somebody else in an F2 state (such as a dream for example - which is just F2 with restricted awareness). Someone else from outside, say F3, can try to communicate telepathically and this communication will hopefully manifest itself in the F2 experiencer's world, perhaps even as a representation of the communicator. With any luck, the communicator may even succeed in raising the F2 experiencer's awareness to an F3 state, resulting in full face to face contact. This can happen in a seamless manner and is another example of 'overlays' in action, in this case F2/F3. This is how it is possible for those who have 'passed over', to use the old terminology, to communicate via dreams with those still residing in the physical."

You may need to read the entire thread to get the terminology in context.
