False Awakening?

Last night I recall having a lot of crazy dreams that all seemed to take place in my bedroom as if I couldn't come out but the dreams came in. But one of them for some reason was about the top 5 haunted houses and the imagery played in my mind was shown like a TV show (while I knew I was in my room and I don't ever use the TV). When it got to number 1 I woke up to the sensations and feelings of energy that I normally feel before getting close to the point of phasing, so I thought..

The covers were over my head and I saw them for a second remove themselves on their own from my face as if a ghost was doing it (I saw 2 shadow figure outlines for a split second then they disappeared) and I could feel the coolness of the air I was shocked for a moment but I let it run it's course. I closed my eyes again and my upper body sat up like it was floating and did a rotational motion as if I was using an invisible hula hoop then my body floated slowly off the right edge of my bed and towards the ground. I noticed my feet were still attached to my physical feet and I snapped back to my body. I wasn't ready to call it quits so I concentrated again with my eyes closed, raised up, did the "hula hoop" thing, and separated to end up flat on my butt on the carpet. My room was the same except it was daytime and I had a giant window on the wall to the left of my bed (when normally I have two windows and a dresser). I looked outside and I saw a beautiful flat green plain with mountains lining the horizon. I was happy. Then I woke up and it was dark I hopped out of bed and started to make funny faces in the mirror, threw around an oddly placed baby doll, and told my dad about the experience (Can you tell that part was a dream?  ) Then I woke up for real and thought "Whoa" I looked at the clock and it was 3:47am.

The whole experience was lightly hazy but I didn't necessarily feel in control I did not think to ask for clarity or control either (I've been reading William Buhlman's work).

I just can't figure out if that AP-like experience was the real deal or not because I haven't experienced a full OOBE yet. Would these "wake up" scenarios be classified as False Awakenings? They all seemed real at first because I was in my room during all of it and I almost had a full sense of touch.

This is why so many people confuse so many experiences... there are too many different labels that humanity gives to the same experience.  It's really annoying... we've trained ourselves to confuse ourselves like this for some stupid reason.  LoL

You shouldn't be asking "Was this an astral projection?", because honestly?  Anytime you're in a reality which you recognize as NOT being this physical reality (even AFTER the fact), *IS* a projection.  I really wish people would begin to wrap their heads around this extremely simply concept... it really does begin to open up *EVERYTHING* to you.

You should be asking yourself two questions:
1.  Was I aware that I was experiencing a reality which wasn't this physical reality?
and
2.  Did I feel as wide awake as you do right now and did you know who exactly you physically were during this experience?

If the answer to #1 is yes, then you had at the very least a lucid awareness projection experience last night.  If the answer to #1 is no, then you had a dream awareness projection experience.

If you answer #2 with something along the lines of "I felt wide awake and knew exactly who and what I physically was"... then you had a FULL astral awareness projection experience.  This *IS* a full obe.  So if you answered those questions like that... then yes, you've had a full OBE.  As I said, most people HAVE... but they choose to ignore it for one reason or another.

Consciousness really is much easier than most people tend to want to think it is.

chase i just had a false awakening after a very awesome vivid dream where i was in control and felt physically
pretty real. I knew my intentions in the dream and eventually knew i was in the dream and was trying to hold on.
I actually woke up sort of in a blank state where I was calm and trying to get back into the dream and I actually
got myself back into the same exact dream where I got it to last for several more minutes.
after the several minutes i felt myself being pulled out of the dream, unfortunately, and i woke up, checked my phone, the time was 4:06 am,
I thought i was in my room and got up to turn on the light and it didn't work. I then woke up in real life.
omg it was so awesome!!

Any tips on staying in the desired dream longer?

That's quite funny Xanth. It is a fact that we are always confused about our own experiences.

This is because our experiences are usually confusing!

Until the time that we start to understand the purpose behind the places we go and thngs we see. Then it starts to make a bit more sense. But believe, this still causes more questions than answers.

For each question I have answered, I have 2 more questions, lol.  :-D

Exactly that's what I am saying. We are always confused what was that an OBE, a false awakening or a dream. Then we have a question, what was that? lol  :-D :-P

Lets look at basic simplification.
Was it a physical body experience?
No,
Then it was a non physical experience.
Effectively, an out of body experience.
An experience into a NPR (non physical reality).

:-D
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.
