Thanks Jeff.  Well, it seems I'm lucky.  The Edgar Cayce Foundation is right here in my city, and it seems the Monroe Institute is in Virginia, need to look up where Faber is though.

Maybe fate brought me here, or maybe my ego just likes to speculate [;)].

Hi The Seeker,

This topic is actually more suited to the OBE Discussions forum. The Welcome to Members Book Reviews & Recommendations can be where you go after you've read the book and want to post a review. [:)]

If you disagree with my moving this please pm me and we'll work something out. By the way, I would also recommend Robert Monroe's other two books as well. They are all a great read.

Very best,

No problem Nick.  I've read Journey's Out of the Body, it was the first book on the topic of OBEs that I ever read, so it sorta jump started me on my path.

The Seeker, you live in VA Beach eh!?  I'm from Norfolk, live in Newport News right now, and travel to the beach alot.  Thats cool theres someone on here from this area.  About the Cayce foundation, check out the library there...my father learned all he knew about Astral Projection from there.

The Monroe Insitute (Faber) is located in Nelson County, about 20 miles South of Charlottesville.  Their location is off of Route 6, between Routes 151 and 29.

They do still run the gateway program.  I recieved an invitation once but couldn't afford to go.  If you want to do it though all you have to do is go to the Monroe Institute web site and sign up, it's that simple.  I think it's around $1,000.

Has anyone here participated in the gateway experiments, at TMI ?

I think very highly of Mr. Monroe, but I think that its a complete waste of money to pay $1000 to go to the institute.  You can acheive OBE yourself without any help, and I feel like the institute capitalizes on people who are "desparate" to succeed and can't.  $300-$400 might be more reasonable, but $1000!?

Well, I just ordered the Gateway Experience series on CD. I should be receiving it shortly and I plan to post here regularly about my experience with it.

Yeah, 1,000 dollars is definately not worth it to me.  I will do it on my own time [^].

First of all the courses cost $1500 and if you have a $65 membership it will cost $1300. Most are 6 days courses and food and sleep is included. I have attended 3 courses and I highly recommend the institute. You have to attend the Gateway Voyage and then the rest. Ask them informations on their site. The experience of their tapes there in the institute is amazing.

Perhaps I should rephrase, I cannot afford $1,300, and am a little disappointed that they charge that much.

Hi there!

I am currently reading "Cosmic Journeys, my out of body experiences with Robert A. Monroe" by Rosalind A. McKnight.

It´s awsome. One could say that it goes hand in hand with Monroes three "Journey books".

I´m hoping to win some money one day[;)], so that I can take the TMI courses. The plane ticket only, probably costs a fortune... [;)]

Flummox.

I'm now reading Robert Monroe's second book "Far Journeys" and I'm wondering, do they still run the Gateway experiments?  Can you still go there and sit in the booths and such?  If anyone has a link to some good info please post it here.
