I have seen in the last year that we have a pattern that develops. People come here, ask a few questions, then disappear into the abyss. We talk quite a bit about our experiences when we Astral Project, but don't really get into the talking about sensations we get trying to get to that point and when they occur. I feel if we work together, we could finally make a blueprint that most new people could follow. That they could see possible obstacles they will encounter and that we can show them how to overcome them. What we need is a basic technique that most people would find favorable results with. But we have to start a the very beginning, with what happens after you first close your eyes and begin your journey. We need to dissect this into sections, kind of like a manual. But the most important thing is we need real feedback from all that attempt this. Tell us exactly what is happening and when. This is all a process but also a personal journey so there is a number of things that can and will happen to you that don't happen to the next person. But with your feedback, we can find the things that we do share, find out the percentage of people that do feel or see these things and be able to create a viable blueprint that most people could follow. Your feedback will contain, time, day or night, sensations, basically when they occurred, visuals, what you see etc. I feel that this would help new people exponentially, but we need your service to achieve this. Many books have been written on OBE/Astral projection, but they are from that Author's viewpoint. We have a real chance here to get a results based on masses of people. Something that anyone could come here, attempt to learn and see that his happens or that happens. Most of the questions we get on this site have to do with things we have answered many times in the past, but these questions come on a single inquiry. If we could keep one thread up to date, anyone could come here and get the answers they are looking for. It would be like the frequently asked questions forum, but all in the same thread per say. But to do this we need your support, we need your feedback.
I hope you will be a part of this, because this will open the doors to more people that are just here to browse and peruse, to actually see something concrete. To see many people's results as they try to find a successful Astral Journey.
I know this may feel like a step back for the people that already find success with Astral Projection, but from time to time we too can jump into the conversation and give helpful pointers to people to help them find their own success.
Don't let this thread die like so many others do here. Let's keep this open and learn together!  :-)
Thank You!  :-)

Hi,
@ Lion,
Initialisation of vibrations thread I started, post 32.
Oh the familiarity!
Its a really good idea in its own thread.

@ All,
Lets do this, it will help so many of us and then the lurkers can try out the art and join in with actual experiences to boot.
All aspects can be studied and maybe symptomatic groups will start to form. A pattern of events relating to many will give some obvious directions on which one to attempt for success.
Some with vibrations and some without for example.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Practice this technique every time you fall asleep which includes at the beginning of the night and all times during the night if you are the type that wakes up multiple times. Keep practicing, and keep a log of what step you can make it to each time you practice. The goal is to make it to step 6 or 7. I prefer to make it to step 7.

1) Be very tired (able to fall asleep within a minute)
2) Raise all your awareness to the top of the head region
3) Focus on a physical anchor (portable fan sound)
4) The next goal is to not be able to hear your physical anchor anymore, but you still have awareness at the top of the head.
5) Hold this state for as long as possible while your body quickly falls asleep
6) If you can't eliminate visualizations from happening in this state, then you will eventually find yourself in a lucid dream.
7) If you can eliminate visualizations from happening in this state, then you will eventually find yourself in the real time zone (in your bedroom).

Thank you for that Todd. One thing to realize is the people that have been attempting to AP already, have learned how to quiet the mind, meditate and release complete focus on the physical. We have to go back to our starting notes to really be able to help people here. Those are all steps, not reactions or feelings. One other thing, Please lets not give this titles, lets help people just get to a non-physical focus per say and then they can look back on their experiences after awhile and decide where they are really going. I don't want this to end up being the normal threads here where we argue about what it is we are really doing.
I was searching for info on a Binaural Beat MP3 I have downloaded named Nature Voyage. It is broken into 4 parts, it says on my MP3 player that it was made by Mind Power Corporation. I don't know where or when I downloaded it, but because it has 4 separate sections I found it would be good to use to dissect our experience into timelines. That is if people wish to use Binaural Beats period.
The following is what I wrote down when I was just new to this. There are a lot of starts and stops, but at least you can see the errors I made, the worst one being I didn't have any idea what to expect, now I know to passively observe everything that happens. If you go in naive of what could occur, you will receive the knock out blows that I did.
Here is what I wrote down when I was first beginning to AP consciously aware last in February of 2011.
I closed my eyes and started to watch my breathing, I did this for about 5 minutes. A slight relaxation started to come over me, but my mind was still racing.
I then worked on a progressive relaxation starting on my eyes and working down to my toes. This is when I noticed the first feeling of waves, the waves soon turned into constant vibrations. This scared me, so i stopped.
The next time I attempted I did as above, got to the waves/vibrations and started to experiment with moving them around my body. This intensified it immensely and again I freaked and that was the end of the session.
Next session I got to the waves, where I was moving the vibrations up and down my body, then a spark of light flew across my vision and once again jolted me out of the session.
You can see what is happening here, for every step I seem to progress in, there is something that will occur to knock me out of focus.
This is enough info for now. That should help you get started.
Good Luck and Safe Travels!  :-)

Okay I don't know how useful my post will be to this but I thought I'd add me 2 cents. I think the main reason people come here for a few days before disappearing is frustration. A lot of people are used to instant gratification and expect to just be able to project within a few days of learning a technique. I must admit when I first joined back in 2009 I was like that I thought I'd just learn how to and I'd be doing it after my first few tries. That led to frustration and led to me leaving for a few months.

I don't think you can do anything about that you can encourage and say 'it takes time it will happen' but people clearly want instant results. Then you get those who claim to really want to OBE but they don't put the work in and wonder why they are not getting anywhere. For the record I've been trying since 2009 (Haven't been successful) but I've only really started putting proper effort into projecting for the last year or so. Before that I would just 'attempt' to project before going to sleep because I was not bothered enough to try techniques like the alarm clock one.

I do think a blueprint would be really useful but it really needs to highlight that there is no quick way of projecting and that patience is a virtue.

also for some reason people think if you are using your imagination its not "real" coz they made it up
everybody can imagine stuff, they could be projecting there mind/awareness all over the place 24/7
which is fantastic for strengthening the third eye and conditioning the mind to the metaphysical but
people just lay there for hours doing nothing waiting for something to happen when they should be
using a rundown ,creating an environment to sink there focus into

as i have said before if you can "imagine" yourself on the roof while your reading this then your mind is in 2 places already

Hi,
Im writing something to post later, most commonly asked questions in sequence with experienced events pertaining to the point of exit. Based on years of experience it will help those starting out.
Todd, I tried your sequence and made it to 6. Then a giant swirling visualisation appeared along with the rapid heartbeating effect and I ended in a lucid dream. Interesting concept, I was trying to see where Id end up without any set intent. That was probably my error.
Good thread, ok on labels Lion, Ill change some in the write-up hefore posting.

Agreed. Projection is an art. You can learn aspects to get you going from others, but you have jump in and gain your own experience over time to create real art. It should flow out of your own essence with a deep inner desire. Steps and rules can only get you so far.

And the people that read and leave are probably not ready. I think it's an inner drive that brings people towards AP and if the drive is enough they won't give up so easily. I'm a karma-believer and think sometimes all a person needs is seed planted. It might sprout later... maybe even in another incarnation.

I definitely agree with this Stookie. This is a growing experience. When I first started to go to the non physical reality I was shown a flower. I got close to the flower, then all of a sudden I had shrunk and was walking on the petals. Next thing I know I was the flower. A gentle rain had started and I could feel how the flower was reacting to it. Then the sun came out and I could feel myself reaching towards it, I could also feel the sensation of growing. For some reason my lessons have always been through quests and puzzles, never any simple thing like being directed on something to do. I usually have to go back to my book after awhile to figure out what it was that was being shown to me and why. But, this always makes the NPR (non physical reality) an adventure.
Thank you for sharing ALL, together as a collective we are making a difference!  :-)

I'm down.

I also have an upcoming post that is in line with this thought on a more general basis.  I'm writing it offline because I'm putting a lot of thought into it.  Perhaps people will really see the value in Lionheart's assertion after they read my post.

Also, people ought to pay attention to NoY's suggestions.  They seem strange sometimes, but there is strong wisdom in his words quite often.  He's helped me a lot, even if he doesn't know it.
be awesome.

Hi,
The starting point must be getting comfy with nothing to disurb you. This includes a TV on as the flashing images will give some physical feedback, this being something you dont want. If uneasy in total darkness use a dim light positioned out of sight.
Noise is another issue. You want ideally, total silence, or a constant noise like a fan thats not too loud. Binaural beats can be used and these need to be without pingy bits or sudden changes in volume.
The idea is to get an ambient condition of constant light sound etc.
Relax as you would normally if going to sleep but remain awake in your mind only. Any itches or pressure should be sorted slowly and gently  to keep the frame of mind.
With your eyes closed you will  see things appearing out of the grainy backdrop, these typically are shifting patches of colour to basic shadowy shapes. Look into the distance, not at them and dont analyse what they may be. These are normal and need to be ignored as if they have no value. They will start to become more vivid and definate pictures of things will follow this. Keep noticing they are there as you stare into the distance without moving your eyes.
This can take seconds if very tired but can take ten mins+ to get to.
As time proceeds with this you may feel less aware of your physical body, this is normal and very much wanted. Typical sensations are the bedding feeling very heavy, tingles and maybe slight twitching. This passes as you go further with this relaxation.
After a while you may hear strange noises appearing from nowhere and these typically range from rushing wind sounds, chips cooking, occasional ringing and totally new zingy sounds. All quite normal so don't worry at all.
The images by now are normally taking forms recognisable and you may start to get involved with them, this feels like a mini dream scene where you enter it and then come out of it. At this part of the relaxation your physical body dissapears from your mind especially when these mini dreams occur.
This point is where things can go in different directions for each practitioner. Its up to this point where most of the hard work is. Keeping still and not moving your eyes being a new experience.
Anyone can get to this point easily in a short time. There's nothing scarey involved.
Enough for now.
Try this part and post what you experienced.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.
