I have not experienced exactly what you are talking about, of 'something' flapping on my face, but on rare occasion  I do get painful sensations, particularly in the face, while laying down.

If it is overwhelming enough, like you say, I shift my focus on gathering Reiki energy in my hands, and Reiki the affected area with my hands.  This has always taken the sensation away in a few seconds.

Remaining calm is the hardest part, which it sounds like you do very well!  :)

Hi Kiauma,
Thanks for your reply, I'm not really familiar with Reiki but it is something that I will look into further after reading your reply.

Thanks again

One time I was spontaneously projecting in the morning after I had woke up to get a drink of water and went back to sleep, I missed the cues because I was trying to sleep, infact on my side.  I then felt and heard something like rodents on my bed skittering around behind me, and at the same time felt vibrations and spinning.

I remember saying "no dude, i'm trying to sleep."  It took some effort to pull back and go to sleep but then I finally woke up, shifted myself then went to sleep.

Now that I think of it I let my gerbils crawl on my bed sometimes to get them out of the cage.  Maybe they were asleep and thats what they were doing in thier dreams.

I only post this just to add my experience of feeling something there, even though it's not quite the same.

Hi to everyone,
It's my first time on this forum and I would just like to share some strange experiences regarding what I think might be oobe's, I would much appreciate any feedback from anyone who has had similar experiences or who might know what these experiences might be.

I would just start by saying that I have always been interested in the paranormal, and have had one or two psychic experiences as a child, but it is only recently that I have been reading more books about oobe's and astral projection etc.

About one month ago I was woken early in the morning by a loud cracking noise, something similar to electrical static but really quite loud, I wondered what it was but being only half awake I dropped back off to sleep.

About  three weeks later I was awoken by the same noise only this time it was accompanied by a bright flash of white light, I also had the strangest feeling of what I can only describe as something being pushed against and into my face, that something felt warm and had the texture of what I would imagine a jellyfish has.

Looking back at the second experience I cannot recall which order the event's happened in, but I'm absolutely certain that this was no dream.

This morning I awoke at about six O'clock and I consciously desired to attempt something akin to an obe.

As I drifted back to a deep relaxation and after how much time I can't be certain, I suddenly became aware that there was something walking, crawling or flapping over my face, although I didn't have any fear it was quite startling and I thought  that my cat had gotten into the bedroom and was walking on my head (as this was what the experience felt like).

As soon as I mentally realised that I had locked the bedroom door and he wasn't in there with me I snapped out of it.
I had felt like that I had left my body ever so slightly and on return to my body I found that I couldn't move, I remained fearless and this paralysed sensation disappeared soon after.

I tried to go back into the state again but by this time I was becoming more alert and my mind was starting to fill up with the usual day to day things.

I shall continue trying to fully leave my body more often as I feel that I am getting quite close to achieving it, but as I said I would be very interested to see what others have to say regarding my above experiences.

Many thanks and excuse the length of my post!
