Well, I drilled myself pretty hard into AP practice over the last 6-8 months. Literally practicing about 4-6 hours everyday. It became a rather numbing routine. I decided to take a week off. During that week i still read up on some things, and such. I ran across something that seemed to ring very well with me, Making perfect sense based off the experiences i had in the past.

There's an explanation of the mindset one should have during an AP attempt. The " Will-less Will " Its like the unforced focus.

It made sense that whenever you lay down and do the several attempts to " Prepare for AP " that your still more or less only doing them with that notion. This time i lied down, and went through the same procedure that i always do to induce physical relaxation, only i did it this time for each process.

I'll Elaborate. I always lay down and do 10 slow breaths. after that, i go through and mentally shut down each section of my body. After that i go through a Phasing like procedure where i mentally place myself through this sequence of movements and involvements around my house. Well this time, I did each step with nothing but FULL intent of perfecting, each process. I did the breaths NOT FOR AP, but for the relaxing effects of the breath. Same with the shutting down sections, and then the phasing, I did only for FULLING involving myself into the phase.

Well sure enough, Doing this with 100% Will on what your currently doing, and not what you want done, made what you wanted done, TO COME!..

Before i knew it, My consciousness slammed back into wakefulness, and i was swaying with my shoulders left and right, about 4" above myself. I managed to raise myself up to my ceiling, right with i felt my face hit the rough texture of what i thought was my ceiling, My eyesight formed. I was standing directly in front of a Black metal-looking wall with large steel bolts. I reached out and ran my fingers across it, It was cold to the touch. It was as if i was inside a large metal tank.....Unfortunately, the excitement brought me back =(...

However, On conclusion, This " Will-less Will " makes perfect sense. The only thought of AP during practice should be the intent in the distant part of your mind. I compared this to the Chinese finger trap. The harder you try, the farther the goal is, BUT, if you relax, and just let it happen, you get to enjoy the outcome that you were looking for =D...

I hope someone that was in the same boat as myself, Stumbles upon this, and understands what i'm trying to say.

I usually wake up around 10:00 - 11:00 after having atleast 8 hours of sleep. I'll stay up with my coffee and such till about 12:30 - 1:00 an do all my practices than. I have a rather strange ritual, that i know isn't necessary but it works for me. I'm done by around 4:00 with everything.

Its good in mid day because I'm still somewhat physically at ease, But mentally I'm ready to start my day. Its like the mid-day nap time. Perfect conditions.

Good luck!,

4 - 6 hours a day?!
Wow... I can understand why you became numb.  :)

Yea I am always worried about pushing myself too much because I dont want to see it as something I'm "Forcing" on myself.
But to each his own I say.
