Think I had my first OBE

I'm pretty sure I experienced my first OBE earlier this morning when I was coming out of a dream, but I'm not sure because i don't remember it very well.  Anyway, i woke up abruptly from a dream i was having, its kind of hard to explain but I'm not really sure if i was in sleep paralysis but i tried the roll out method and i thought my physical body actually fell on the floor.  Low and behold i got up and my physical body was still in the bed and i was very excited that this finally happened.  Now the room that i was in seemed like it was a lot different and the building almost seemed like it was a different building, and in my memory this part is very foggy to me for some reason.  At this point, i decided to just jump through the wall and outside which is about 3 stories above the ground, so i jumped through my wall and tumbled to the ground, and was walking around for what seemed like quite a while.  I could jump pretty high but i couldn't float or fly and i distinctly remember telling myself that i wanted to fly.  Anyway, I'm not sure if this was an actual OBE or just a really vivid lucid dream, because from what i can recall, everything was different it didn't seem like a mirror copy of the physical world.   I'm wondering if its possible to have a false awakening and then a false OBE in which you think you OBE in a dream and then just become lucid or something in the same dream.  I don't know I'm having difficulty trying to explain this because the experience has since faded in my mind.  Also, is it common for people who have OBE's and astral projection to start to forget the experiences they have had?  Any comments, advice, tips would be appreciated.

Greetings iamkuljuarnot
From the description of your experience it Does appear that you had an OBE! Congrats :-)
Ask yourself--- how many times have I had a dream where I rolled out of my body then got up and saw my physical body lying in bed?? You don't dream like that (nobody does). Seeing the physical body from an out of body perspective is the tell sign that the experience is an OBE.
About the differences that you saw between the astral and physical. Those differences are actually quite normal. The astral/ethereal sometimes appears slightly altered because thoughts manifest as apparent objects in the astral. Usually the differences are minor yet I have, on occasion, noticed some dramatic differences between familiar physical locations and their astral counterparts.

so a few days later i think i almost induced my second ever OBE.  It happened the same way that my first one did with me waking up from a dream after becoming lucid and at the exact moment that i realized my physical body i tried the rollout method and i thought my physical body was rolling out of my bed onto the floor, except this time it felt like my body was falling very slowly to the ground, and then i found myself back in my physical body and was dissapointed, not sure what to make of it because it was sooo similar to my first experience in that i did the same thing but i think i got out of my body for maybe a couple of seconds but then was back in my physical body.  My question is, when you get "out of your body", do you have to in a sense "open your eyes" like you would in the physical world, or are they already open when you get out of your body, because i'm pretty sure that my first OBE experience i thought i literally opened my eyes, and maybe this second time i just didnt focus enough and open my eyes maybe thats why i went back into my body VERY quickly, i dont know, hard to explain, anyway,  any replies appreciated.

I had a similar experience lately. Here's my link to my post

Were you able bodied? Like did your arms and legs move like you tried moving normally?

iamkuljuarenot

Im guessing your asking if i was able bodied in my second experience, and as far as that no, i was not, it just felt the same as my first experience as far as exiting my body but it went no further than that, i thought i rolled out onto my floor, and then i was back in my body, i had no vision or anything whatsoever which is because i kept my eyes closed, now I'm not sure if its possible to keep your "nonphysical eyes" closed but that's what it seemed like.

You definitely had an OBE, I still have not seen my physical body while having an OBE granted I have only had probably a couple with the majority being phasings.

I think it would be really weird to see my physical body

Duality is the oddest sensation of them all. Seeing yourself is an aspect of duality.

How about triality?
Or perhaps quadrality?  :)

I imagine that duality is easier to handle in comparison. LoL

I had a "tri-ality" experience a couple weeks ago when I got hypnotized.

We were having a psychic festival at my work (metaphysical bookshop), which usually entails about 40+ psychics from all over the country specializing in all kinds of psychic skills.  I got my boss to give me a break so I could go see one of the readers, though the person I chose wasn't really a psychic, he is a local hypnotherapist (he actually is a psychic also, but he was doing hypnotherapy that day).  I talked to him about my troubles with projection as of late and how I was already well versed in trance induction, which really excited him because we could get more done since i could 'hypnotize' myself.  So he had me start trance induction to which he added a constant reaffirming of my skill.  I was kind of surprised that I was able to go into such a good trance because we were in the middle of a big room with at least 50+ people milling around and talking, not to mention the other readers doing readings.  Nevertheless, I was able to induce a trance with the hypnotherapist's help (a good deep alpha trance).  I got to a point in trance where my whole body felt extremely swollen like I was stuffed with cotton.  At this point he started asking me some questions about my practice and fear, and again, much to my surprise, i began speaking words that did not feel like my own.  It was like I was in the background, watching but not doing, answers to his questions just sort of bubbled up out of me.  I told him that my greatest fear was that I was only living half my life, that I felt cut off from the deep recesses of my mind that I was once able to access and explore.  So he led me through some visualizations while simultaneously using some NLP to program some new thoughts into my mind (which I told him was ok to do before we started because I know him and trust him).  The visualizations were the interesting part though.  First he had me step out of my body and stand behind myself.  Throughout the rest of the visualization there was a version of me standing behind me rubbing my back and repeating "everything is fine, you're strong, you're at ease, you are free of limitation".  Once that was established, he had me move forward into another visualization in which I was laying in my bed and felt myself rising out of my body and floating up to my ceiling.  From there he led me on a visualized journey (like a shamanic journey) into my subconscious to confront my fears.  So I was simultaneously aware of sitting in the room with him, of standing behind myself rubbing my back and speaking AND having a pseudo-OBE to explore my subconscious.  It was a wild experience.  It wasn't like all three of me were happening and I could focus in on one at a time, I literally was perceiving through all three perspectives at once.
be awesome.

Now THAT is what I'm talkin' about.
Very cool PR.  ;)

I got to go see some hypnotherapist/psychics to experience this!!! PR, very intriguing example, thanks for sharing. Reminds me of Doctor Manhatten, or Genie from Alladin. Able to just create, proceed, and recreate. That's the power of our mind right there!!! Now think if you were skilled enough to go through these practices on yourself via creating a main self away from your bodily self??!!

I have a similar account somewhere here in the depths of the AP archives. It sounds really confusing, but isn't while it's happening. I have dual experiences all the time, but the triple only once (as far as I can remember).
