Title: First true attempt met with.. Well, I don't know.
Post by: Akime R.E. on January 20, 2010, 15:20:08
Chalk me up as one of the folks always fascinated with this kind of thing. Long ago, back when I was maybe 16-17 I had several experiences once while I was sleep deprived with sleep paralysis. For a while, it happened quite frequently after that. Reading up on it, I discovered the world of lucid dreaming. While I was only able to go lucid once, it was for a very short time and I lost control and woke up. Seven years later and I still have yet to have another.

Either way, after watching on youtube "My big TOE" it really had me wondering as for some reason, I always felt that theory to be right. Well, not so much right as plausible. I feel that there is a greater collective of consciousness and were just a part of it. Last night, after further surrounding myself with information on AP and what not, I attempted it. I've never really had all that much of a problem trancing out. I have no problem getting to what's called "Condition A" but I can never get around it. I had the idea of requesting help and it was something like my mantra. "I request anyone out there to come and assist me out of my body so I may enlighten myself and my knowledge." I kept chanting that over and over in my brain and I ended up getting some strange sensations I've never had before. It started with my feet going numb and my body starting to tingle all over. I felt the vibrations too and things behind my eyes started to get more vivid. I was able to 'focus' to different points in my body and for some reason my focus was being drawn to where the "Third Eye" was located. I could picture.. I dunno really how to describe it. Like I could see a bright bit of energy forming around that area and it felt like I was so close. Like I could truly feel someone trying to break that last door down.. but then it all went away. My body became completely aware again.

All I know is that I felt as if I was close to separation. I've never felt sensations like that before and they were quite comfortable. Note that I was trying this shortly before I was to fall asleep and I've read that trying it while tired isn't always the easiest thing to do.

After the first time, I tried again and could feel as if I was starting to get there again, but I felt mentally drained. Like I had used up so much energy trying to get out of my body and I didn't have any more to spare. It wouldn't come on as strong for that night, so I just went to bed.

Normally I'm a person who never remembers his dreams. I tried so long ago several techniques to try and learn, but it just won't happen. Either way, thoughts?

If you're not mentally / energectially ready it will be impossible for any entity to assist you with astral projection. I find that when it comes to enlightening ourselves with knowledge, we are usually on are own.

More like one of the hardest things to do...  :-D

If you were to take your average Joe off the street that has never tried astral projection before and told him to lie down while you 'assist him with an OBE and enlightenment', I have a feeling it wouldn't work. We need to practice on our own more than a couple times before such enlightenment can be obtained.

QuoteNormally I'm a person who never remembers his dreams.

Two words... Dream Journal. First thing upon waking up, write in the journal. If you can not remember a dream to write in then just write the last few things you remember before you fell asleep, like for instance a thought you had before you fell asleep, perhaps your body position..etc. Anything you can remember, and the closest to the brink of sleep as possible. Just do this everyday and you will find yourself remembering bits and pieces of dreams, and soon you will remember whole dreams no problem. The reason why dream recall is important to out of body experiences is because they occur (at times) in the same brainwave state as dreams. Anything that occurs close to the sleep and dream states is notoriously hard to remember, but the more you exercise the brain in remembering these things the easier it gets.

For those who can do what I can normally do during a projection, remembering is a piece of cake. During a projection once I have done all that I want to, and I want to end the projection as to not keep it too long or lose consciousness while projecting I can force my physical body to sit up and I'll end up in body already sitting up... then I just write down the experience. A few times I kept it too long and ended up losing consciousness while out. So once you finally do succeed make sure you keep your first few experiences very short maybe a minute or so, end it and make sure you do not fall asleep. Force yourself out of the bed (or couch) write down the experience, cement the memory firmly. Then go to sleep if you wish.
