Flashing Lights

I wouldn't worry about it. I believe that flashes of light and similar things are signs that you are moving closer to enlightenment. I've been getting the flashing light thing on and off occasionally, but mainly I get this point of light in the centre of my vision. Sometimes it's blue, sometimes it has no colour. Sometimes it's a bit out of focus, and sometimes it flashes up really brightly. This has been happening more frequently over the past 6 months - well, it's slowly gone from never happening to getting quite common.

So yeah, it probably just means something big is coming your way  Just bide your time, trust me.

Yesterday night when I went to bed I had a flash too in my closed eyes. I thought it was lightning outside but no.  I've been practising the NEW method for a couple of weeks and I thought it was related because at the time of the flash, I felt a strong tingling sensation on one finger.

I hope Adam is right.

But I would like to know more about it, if anyone experienced something like that.

If you get past by the flashes you'll experience an OBE....

That is the trick namely...getting past the flashes.

Update 2:

As I was trying to relax before sleeping tonight (after completing those NEW exercises) I had some strange things happen. First off, it seems as if my consciousness was wandering. For a second I heard the people in the next room perfectly, as if I was in the room with them. Secondly, my ears and head were acting strangely. I kept getting this rush of energy, like an ethereal punch on my face. This wave of energy would hit my face audibly with a sort of WHUMP!! Feeling and sound. Also I noticed an incredibly bright flash in my eyes as this happened. It did so quite a few times. Also, this time the tingling and muscle spasms and twitches, hit me AFTER the exercises and not during them.

Strobe Effect Note:
The bright flash and mild facial concussion, as described above, comes from the brow centre strobing visually. This is seen in the mind's eye as it pulses accumulated energy upwards into the crown centre, as is its nature. The facial concussion effect, comes from their support structures in the facial area, reacting to the strobe. Perhaps you're experiencing a mild version of the above. There's a bit more in Astral Dynamics, but not too much.

I get the same flashes when I'm in the hypnagogic state.  The problem is, having a flash in my face (as if someone is flashing a camera bulb in front of my face when my eyes are closed) kind of wakes me up.  I'm going to try to make it past this phase in full consciousness after reading an above post.

Hello,

Quite often when i meditate i get very quick flashes of light behind my eyes, a bit a camera flashes and can be off putting if i'm trying for an OBE as it sends my heart into overdrive. Does anyone else have experience of this or should i get my eyes checked out?
