Hey folks.

I know I have brought this up a few times, but was wondering if somebody can maybe shed more light on this for me. I know I am getting close. I am just super curious as to how close.

Let me begin by saying that I have really observed my body over the past few night attempting astral projection. The very first attempt at astral projection I think was my closest of getting out of body.

The very first symptom I seem to be getting is a brief and sudden fall sensation. Sometimes I can sense when this feeling is about to occur because I start seeing weird patterns when my eyes are closed. The first attempt, I felt the falling feeling. I held it. This led to a very rapid heartbeat and tingling feeling. Are those tingling feelings the vibrations? Or is it something totally different? I also saw an extremely bright white light. (Tongue twister) lol. These are what I felt my first few attempts. The only reason I didn't follow through is because of my heart and it worried me. I am over that now.

Now, all I seem to be getting is a fall sensation but it doesn't go all the way through like it did the first few times. Instead I feel it but then it stops. Sometimes after I feel it my body will do the rotation clock feeling. It's almost like I become very dizzy and feel like I am lying flat on a merry go round. I held this feeling for at least three minutes last night and then it finally just stopped. Nothing really happened and I ended getting back up.

I will do some more experimenting, but I just wanted to see what you all think of this as well. Can someone maybe explain to me if these symptoms I am getting are close to an OBE? Or is it more of a trance stage? My body will also get really light but sometimes nothing happens even after I hold the feeling for a very long time.

I appreciate it folks. Hope everyone is well.

Cody, have patience. You just started this, give it some time. You will see after awhile that your earlier sensations start to subside. I vary rarely have vibrations any more. I am about 8-9 months in with my practice, at least voluntarily. You have to just keep practicing if you are serious and don't put expectations on yourself. Intent starts once you are in the Astral. Just passively observe right now and always keep a log of what's happening, what's changing etc. You are expecting too many things, too early right now. This takes some people months and even years to learn to do successfully. If you rush it you will find you won't have your immediate results and thus lose interest in it. Read Ryan's and Frank's posts. They will give you quite a few pointers there. Reading and watching videos on OBE's conditions the mind for success!

Thanks Lionheart. I am definitely not giving up ever. This is just all so new to me, and to know OBE's exist will really turn my life around. I will keep observing and experimenting. I am so fortunate I started reading up on all of this.

You may well be projecting without realising it. The tingling sensation you mention could be vibrations as some people only experience them in a mild form.  My advice would be to do lots of reality checks while you're learning, as there's often no clear indicator that you've actually projected, and it can feel just the same as being awake. The most foolproof check is to pinch your nose shut with your thumb and finger, then try to breathe through it. If you can breathe through your closed nose you are definately OOB.
I would do a check every time the tingling has subsided - even if you feel totally sure you are awake. You might be surprised how often you aren't...

You did it. That is exactly the way I project a lot of the time.  If you can induce that falling feeling you are out of your body.  Trust me. You just have to realize how to "balance" it out.  If you can figure out how to open your astral eyes you will see that you are floating around out of your body.  A lot of the time what I do when I get that falling sensation is try to speed it up and spin.  May seem weird and scary at first, but trust me your physical body is fine.

Here is a rundown of what I do when I get the falling sensation.

Start falling, hold the feeling and make it go faster.  If you get the vibrations, the tingly feeling your talking about, try to relax as well as increase the speed of them.  A lot of the time my vibrations come with a high pitched computer generated sound (best way for me to describe it).  If you can speed the vibrations up, increase the pitch of the sounds, and fall faster, you will eventually find yourself in the astral.

But yeah, you sound like your in the same boat as me.  The first time I tried to project I had the same questions, got the same falling sensation, but didn't know where to go from there.  Eventually with practice I was able to open my astral eyes and balance out the falling sensation.  From there its basically exactly like a lucid dream.

Good luck, your obviously a natural so you'll pick it up real quick.
