From the day I started practising astral projection I've not achieved anything. Why is it so difficult?

I've tried phasing, but I can't do it, I can't stay focused on the blackness. I've dabbled in hemisync and I've learned some good relaxation techniques, that's the only positive I can take so far.

I've tried binaural beats and isochronic tones, still nothing. It's annoying because I'm reading all these amazing stories people post on here and I can't even get close to them.

I usually attempt to project at night, but recently I've tried in the mornings. I can't focus any attention in the morning, I just fall back asleep.

What can I do? I don't want to give up, but I'm lost at the moment. How long did it take for you to notices changes?

schockstuhh

mm maybe it's hard because you're not familiar with how it feels. you could try achieving an OBE via indirect methods like using a technique when you wake up or through becoming conscious in a dream. i remember i started with listening to binaural beats and i just felt tingly. i wasn't really sure how i was supposed to feel so that wasn't really going anywhere. then i read up on the indirect methods of achieving on OBE and i was able to do it within weeks by becoming conscious in a dream. now that i was familiar with how it felt, ive been making much more exciting progress on achieving one consciously by simply remembering how it felt and just trying to give my body the same feelings while meditating, listening to binaural beats, etc.

How long have you tried each of these things?

You seem to be jumping between method and technique so quickly... this could be part of your problem:  You're impatient.

With Phasing, if you can't stay focused on the blackness for too long, then you just need to practice it more.  It's really that simple.  :)

I'd suggest practicing only in the mornings... my opinion is that it's much easier.  During the nighttime you're more focused on falling asleep because that's what you've been doing all your life until now.

Well, first... the only way you can guarantee to be unsuccessful is to quit.
Next, it takes however long it takes.  Just don't give up.

Just keep practicing.  Personally, I find Phasing using the Noticing exercise the easier method... but it's an individual thing, just keep experimenting, but give each one a good 2 - 3 weeks before moving onto the next one.  :)

Being impatient is an issue. It's just I'm hoping for a little something to encourage me to progress further.

That's the frustrating thing, I know once I experience it and know what it feels like I should be able to kick on from there. It's just getting that break through.

In regards to the mornings how do you focus yourself if you've just woken up. Should I wake myself up a little first and make sure I've had sufficient sleep?

Thank you for you comments.

The encouragement is that this forum exists and it's full of people who want to help you.  :)

And yes, you're 100% correct.  That "first" experience is really all that holds most people back... it's also the driving force for a lot of people.

If you have no pressures to get up at a certain time, just wake up whenever you usually do... then get up for 10 - 15 minutes, just so you wake up a bit more... then go back to bed and practice.  If you attempt right from waking up out of sleep, more often than not you'll simply fall back to sleep.  Go to the bathroom... read a book for a few minutes... grab a drink of water.  Then practice.

If you're pressed for time, try waking up 1 - 2 hours before you have to go (ie to work or school)... and do the rest.  :)

Jbrown832 I thought i should encourage you.

^spam much?

Go to google and searching for Hemi-Sync Gateway Experience and do the First Waves, see if you feel anything after doing those

Ive tried it twice now and the second time I decided to take a nap after doing one of the exercises, and I went straight into having a torso surge and feel it go all the way to the top of my head and almost out - being OBE

I think its great

JBrown832,

Try reading my sticky post: Why I can't Project

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_out_of_body_experiences/why_cant_i_project_invisiblelight_book_reference_for_beginner_to_advance-t28923.0.html

This might help you better understand and use different approach to projecting.

Good Luck,
