Matt....no worries, mate.  This happens to the best of us.  In my case, this only seems to happen if I separate without any vision.

What you can do when flying around like that is imagine that you're slowly slowing down, and image your feet slowly coming to rest on the ground.  Then reach down and touch the ground, and imagine your vision kicking in.

This usually works for me.  Hope it can help you out.  The key is using your imagination to help give you back some control and stabilize the erratic flying.
Keep smiling,

Welcome to the Forums.  It may just be that you are a Projector without a destination.  It is possible that if you could decide on a target area you wish to visit before you project that you might be able to avoid all that confusion and yo- yoing. You have already passed the sometimes most difficult part - you projected, so now you must try to fine-tune your post-projection routine. Just a thought. Good luck.

Hi Matt

Welcome to the forum.Sometimes when I move from one location to another during a projection it will be in a way similar to what you describe:dropping rapidly or shooting off in an upwards direction. It was scary at first but once I got used to the sensations it`s become alot of fun.Next time you start to "drop downwards really fast" just relax and let it happen and see where you end up.My success in projecting came when I stopped trying to control things and became more of a passive, detached observer. It gets easier with practice and you have to figure out what works best for you.

This is spot on mate - vision doesn't seem to come to me as easily as i'd like!! Cheers for the tips.

I think i'm also gonna try just letting it happen![8] the sensations certainly are intense so why not have fun with 'em!!

Cheers Guy's!!

Hi Everyone, Big hello![:D]

This is my first post - i've been a member for a little while and appologise for not introducing myself sooner. But i was wondering if any one could give me a little help??!

I started looking into OBE's about a year ago when I started experiencing sleep paralysis - this freaked me out a bit so i looked it up and after searching the web for answers i came across this site. I've been looking at a few posts and have developed some basic skills but i'm having a trouble "steadying" myself when i manage to get "out".

The problem is that i seem to be able to relax and start to project ok but once i'm "free" i just start to drop downwards realy fast i can just about get myself, stop and hang around for a bit then SHOOT straight back up again higher and faster than when i went down!!!!

As you can imagine - its getting a bit annoying when all i seem to be able to do is boop around like a yo-yo!!

Anyone got any ideas??

Cheers!![;)]
