OK so last night I laid down to go to sleep and the vibrations started almost immediately, which is a bit strange for me as I usually have to relax a bit more, and they started in my head instead of feet. I was able to get them to move to my shoulders then they just quit. This is the second time this has happened, starting in my head, how do I get them to move down through my whole body, and why do they start in my head?

Do NEW, more specifically a whole body bounce.
I used to do it when I used to get vibrations.
Since I don't anymore, the matter is moot for me

There is no real answer, but the theory is that the vibes are facilitated by whichever chakra is most active.  I used to get them more on my chest area (aka heart chakra), others have more head chakra activity.  That's a theory anyway.

For me, vibes tend to start around my solar plexis / heart / back, and are quickly felt through my whole body. I find that consciously trying to "move" them actually kills them. Keeping a calm & passive awareness during the vibes tend to let them do their own thing until ready for separation.

If they are starting in your head, it may be because this is where most of your awareness is at. Maybe try some awareness / energy movement exercises (like NEW) before an attempt to get more "even" vibes.

(when posting I see CFTraveler suggests NEW also. Great minds think alike.)

I am no vibration expert but I would say it is better to have the vibrations start in the head. If nothing more, if the higher chakras are involved- the higher up they start the better. I know mine usually start in my head.  Initially, I would try to move them around my body- At the time it was just for practice, and to get used to the sensations. But, totally without knowing anything about chakras at the time, I think was unknowingly activating my chakras by doing this. Then one night, when vibrations started, I pushed them to my toes, and back to my head, and back to my feet numerous times- with the intensity building at every cycle.  Eventually, the power built up to a point I could not take it anymore, and it burst out of the top of my head.  Now- I am not saying that should be a goal. At the time I did it quite by accident, and had no idea what it might have meant.  Quite a few years later, I had a friend who was into meditation tell me it sounded like an experience of kundilini rising. I am still not sure if that was it, or even totally what that means. But, I think it has to do with activation of the various chakras.  Info on kundilini rising is here-   http://www.dharma-haven.org/oas/kundrise.htm  but, it is usually something people try to do with training.  Anyway- it only happened the one time.  If you experiment with pushing the vibrations from head to toe, you may have this happen too. But, if I had a choice as to which area was better to start the vibrations- head or feet, I would choose the head every time.

wow -thanks to all for the info. I thought that the vibrations needed to start in your feet and rise to your head. OK so now I know that I should just let them go as they go. I will be trying the NEW hopefully this will help get to the separation... thanks again.
