Havn't posted here in awhile. Been having trouble getting decent hours of sleep, so all of my obe practice went to crap.  Anyways i have a question

sometimes when i start going to sleep, usually when im not trying to have an obe, and right when im about to drift into a dream, i get like a "flash" or a quick "glimpse" of my surroundings of where im at. Almost as if i opened my eyes, looked around real quick and closed them. Only, its a little different then as if i'd seen it from my physical eyes. I still have yet to project, so im guessing this is what its like seeing threw your third eye.  The thing is, these things are only quick glimpses or flashes.

anyone expirance similarthings? comments or anything on this nature would be nice.

I know exactly what you are talking about.  This usually happens to me when I am starting to fall asleep in front of me computer.  Usually for me some thing weird happens, or I think I am awake until I try and move my arms.  This tends to wake me up and then I realize what was going on and think "Oh hell I messed it up again."

I have had some really cool things happen in these brief moments.  Over all I am glade that they happen because it keeps my hopes up.

Hey Enderz,

This is something that has not only become quite common with me, but it's anticipated and welcomed!

I attribute these "glimpses", as you call them, to my astral senses turning on.

Imagine being dead asleep in your bed.  During the course of the night, you might turn to switch positions, open your eyes for a second, and nonchalantly go back to sleep.  You don't even think about what you just did, because it's all a natural reaction to getting comfortable.

Well, I see these "glimpses" as the same type thing.  As you're laying down and mentally preparing for an OBE, your astral senses (in this case 'sight') starts to awaken.  At first, these glimpses catch us offguard, but the more you relax and accept them (instead of over analyzing what just happened), not only will they happen MORE, but they will last longer and longer.

It's a great platform from which you can phase directly into the astral environment.

Hope that helps!
Keep smiling,

"astral vision" is what RB calls this right??

a good test of this (as cube said in another thread i believe) is to wear a sleep mask to bed. That way if you are looking straight up at the ceiling, you know its through the mask and therefor astral.

Dear EnderZ,

yeah, I had one of those Flash Visions.  It was like it lasted almost no time.  As soon as it was there, it was gone.  It is remarkable that I remember any of it... it is as though it flashed directly onto a memory 'plate'.

The hypnogogic state wonders around... this Flash thing is different.

yea, its as if you opened your eyes, then closed them a split second right after.
