Had first OBE, saw someone else as me in my bed....

So, This is how it happened. I need others input.

I woke up early around 6AM, drank some water and went back to sleep. Next thing you know, I feel the levitation sensation, vibrations, and weird sounds. I push myself out of bed, and I am having an OBE.

Now, controlling my movements was different then I would have thought. I was like a bouncy balloon. I could walk in a sense, but it was more of a bouncy walk, like floating. So, I float-walked-bounced(as i will call it) to the door. And this is where things got weird. I felt as if it was really me in real life, awake, because I wanted to walk through my door. As I did, I put my hand to push it through and felt the door. I couldn't just pass through it, I had to open it...

So I told myself, that it couldn't be. I would not be solid out of body. I went to open the door and said, let me go back to bed. So I float-walked-bounced back to my bed, and lo and behold, it wasn't me there.

I saw a female with blond hair sleeping in the position I was in on my bed!!!, and I said, thats really weird. Also next to her was a cat, and that cat is very important and I will explain why, and this is why I need help in figuring this out.

After that things became a blur and I woke up a couple minutes later.

I have talked to others on this very site, when trying to astral project/ OBE I have the sleep paralysis thing, where your mind is awake, and body asleep, and you cant move. Lets say I have had that 3 times happen.

Each time, I always feel a cat walking around my bed, like it jumped up onto it. It doesn't scare me, because I have a cat. I even feel the sheets move. But after I can move, usually after like 30 seconds, I go to see if the cat is there, and no cat..... and the door is closed. I wake up and the cat is a sleep in the next room. So I know its NOT my cat.

Now, I am wondering, why didn't I see myself in bed when I went back? And who was the blond girl with the cat? Like I said, the cat is important.

After looking on the web, I have found a couple of reports of people who have the same experiences, not with OBE's, but with a cat that cant be seen.

I have not had any dead cats in my life, just this one and its still alive.

so my real questions for the pro's.

why couldn't I just walk THROUGH the door?

why didn't I see myself in bed? Why did I see a female.

What does the cat have to do with everything?

I agree I think the cat is very important.
It's possible that the cat is the manifestation of a spirit guide or maybe a personnel guardian. I say this because I have never felt any malice or anything bad from it. On the contrary it always feels kind of comfortable and reassuring. In fact I had the 'cat on the bed' experience again only just yesterday. I had just got into bed and was getting comfortable when I felt the unmistakable presence of the cat climbing over my legs and then curling up against me, but as usual when I looked there was nothing there.

The ancient Egyptians believed that cats were divine perhaps they had the same experience's as we do.

Interesting about the Egyptians, and that with OBE's some people have a cat sensation.

All thins makes me wonder about the great sphinx, egypt, and why did believe these things.


Im still wondering why I did not see myself in bed, and why I couldnt walk THROUGH the door though. Anyone else who had OBE's can answer this?

Well those are good questions, but really its nothing to worry about at all.  Strange things happen during OBE's, who knows.  I have had a few OBE's where instead of me in my bed it was a small doll that looked alot like me or a child.  I have also launched free and smacked headlong into a wall or door because I figured I could just go through it but I ricochet off, sometimes I will even to back to it and go right through it, who knows why I didnt the first time.  Its pretty damn funny though being like "WOOO HOO I AM OBE!!!!"  SMAAAAACCCKKKK right into a door.  Makes me wake up laughing myself to tears every time.

i read that your subcoscious may have taken over a bit. it can interfer with obes and make them like lucid dreams. your mind most likely created a female randomly, along with the solid door. cool about the cat. maybe the egyptians werent as dumb as we think

izalco I was thinking it over last night and it is possible that the girl that you saw may have been the female aspect of your Psyche. It's only a theory but it could be a yin yang type of thing, of course I could be wrong but then if we had all the answers we wouldn't need this site. As to why you couldn't walk through the door I don't have a clear idea except that it might have been important that you see the girl and cat first.

Keep up the practice and maybe the answers will eventually come clear.

Everything you describe is perfectly normal.  Your subconscious mind is still working whilst LD/OBE and can create all sorts of fluctuations with your environment.  Personally I'm uncomfortable with the thought of  seeing myself lying in bed, so usually I don't.  I might see a lump under the sheets, but rarely see my face.  Now as for a blonde - that sounds good to me..... must arrange that for myself next time!

I suspect that you just have a subconscious resistance to the shock of seeing yourself so your mind created a more acceptable substitute.  Same thing with the door - you're not quite ready or comfortable with the idea of passing through doors, so your mind made it solid.

As for the cat thing, well this has happened to me quite a few times.  I have felt my little cat jump onto the bed and pad around all over my legs.  Feels extremely real.  But when this happens I know she is physically downstairs - locked out of the bedroom!  So I know it's not my physical cat!  It could be an illusion or just my astral cat.  But nothing to worry about!
