Muscle contractions during projection attempts.

I'm finding lately that my hips contract when I try to meditate.  It's awful! I have to take muscle relaxants to sleep, because it's so painful. I suspect I'm holding too much tension in my body, not even noticing it during the day, driving for long hours and sitting at my computer, only to find myself flopping about like a tuna in the evenings as my body slows down for the night.

If you think it might be muscle tension, try what I'm doing these days - - - chiropractic, massage, "float" sessions at the local stress lab, anything.   I'm trying to get off the pills.  They're harmless, I'm not addicted to them or anything, I'd just rather not take them!

Well Jbot,  I've had this happen to me on several occasions while stimulating the energy body especially in my right leg.  While I believe sometimes it is unavoidable other times you may be able to get around it with better physical body disassociation ie...go into a deeper trance state.

Update:  One visit to the chiropractor and shazam!  No more muscle spasms during meditation!  I also did some pressure point therapy with my favorite quartz crystal (it's egg shaped).  I wonder how long it will last.

Anyway, the moral of the story is, stress and/or misalignment can botch meditation/projection attempts.  Do whatcha have to do, physically, spiritually, and/or emotionally, to straighten out your body/mind/soul.  Although the source of the problem may be at one level, pain will manifest at any or all of them.

Good luck!

Quieting the physical body must be the single biggest Secret to successful projection. Unfortunately although many people have their own techniques there is no One method that works consistently for everyone.
BTW I still like trying just before sleep. Trouble is that I fall asleep more times than not. [|)]

Hello all, I've gotten into Astral travel after a brief natural projection about a year ago. I've been following the NEW techniques for about 3 months and just started primary chakra development 3 weeks ago.

I feel I'm getting closer to an actual projection but when I begin to feel the tingle and pressure, my muscles in my head and legs begin to contract/tense up quite strongly. (Sometime to the point of my head slightly shaking.) Of course this bungles my attempt as don't want an aneurysm. [V]

Is this merely a sign of underdeveloped primary centers or ???

Thank you for your time! :)
