K I been having some Lucid Dreams lately (LDreams not OBE's I stress) and something kind of frustrating been happening in that I have been wanting to OBE from a Lucid dream but trouble is once i'm actually in the middle of one, I cannot actually find myself conscious enough outside of that reality at the time to initiate any sort of awareness that i'm dreaming to somehow tell myself to try OBE.
Has anyone else had this same problem? having a lucid dream but not being able at the time to get a que to go OBE? do tell. Any advice is welcome also. TY.
Could I perhaps venture that you're not lucid enough then?
Once you know of your intention to OBE returning to your body seems simple enough. Simply think of (focus on) the middle of your physical head.
Worked for me.
SkepticBoy - have you been doing any "reality checks', where during you daily life you observe your surroundings and ask yourself if you're dreaming? If you do this enough to where it becomes habit, there's a good chance you'll start doing it in your dreams as well if you're lucid enough. Maybe that will que the realization you're looking for.

It depends on the time you're having the LDs. I have found that in the middle of the night, everything feels like a dream....even if you write it down and it's later validated. So I'd suggest that you follow the advice everyone else has talked about (reality checks, keywords,) and add affirmations to the routine.
"I maintain lucidity when I dream" May be something to try, and try getting up early to establish a rhythm.
I was under the impression a true lucid dream is when you are aware you are dreaming? But I know there are some types that you have less control over and your mind runs riot :)

Also whenever I'm in a lucid dream, I tend to get really bad memory and 'forget' to try all out all the new methods that I've been meaning to try out. And then I wake up and get annoyed that I forgot.
Reality checks help a lot. That's actually all I ever do lol...it's quick and simple. However I do tend to forget to do reality checks sometimes, and sometimes it's not convenient to do so. Also meditation helps for some reason.
Lucid dreaming is sort of hit and miss though at times which can get fustrating.

You are correct, lucidity is about conscious awareness of the dream, not control. But to turn an LD into an AP, all you have to do is leave the dream environment to cross over into an Astral environment (or to go to the public part of the astral, coming from the private part). For that you need lucidity and a certain degree of self control, to not lose your lucidity and forget about it.
